been busy lately... new corner now filled and sanded along with the side panel and slinding door prepped the car to prime tomorrow not perfectly straight but I don't bother... it's had a tough life and don't want a bus full of filler so it's reasonably straight will be painted satin anyways so that'll mask some of the imperfections...

That blue is perfect, if you'd told me you were going that colour I would not have believed it would come out looking that good. The white roof finishes it off well, I'm hoping you stick to the black plastic hubcap type trims on white painted wheels.

thx!! volksangyl, what do you mean by black hubcaps? I changed the 15" mercedes wheels for the original 14" steelies with the chrome hubcaps... but will try this week what the weels look like in white... and debrasel: www.debrasel.nl/but it's a dutch website so you probably won't be able to read it... It's a type of aluminum bondo that get's rock hard. You have to sand it with an angle grinder if you leave it on for 2 days before sanding... you can even tap wire in it for screws/bolts etc. I almost always use it for visible welds that require bondo...

some progress... The old oil consuming TD lump the "new" 1Y golf III engine made it more buslike... when removing the engine from the bus found out that the clutch was all worn and cracked so had to buy a new one... mounting.. time for the new diesel to go in hope to get the rest done tomorrow...

hmmm, looks like i forgot this topic here! Lots have happend since last update though... rebuilding the van: since I didn't have an exhaust that would fit but I still had the TD damper and I didn't want to buy a new one. So I made my own connection between engine and damper: renewed the filler cap modified the bootlid because the 1Y dieselpump sits higher then the original one fitted a second battery
