No worries! wasn't looking half as good as most of the stuff around it so was probably shying away erm they're so so, the idle is still a bit erratic, 500-600rpm when cold up to 1000 or 1500 when hot, current suspect is intake manifold gasket I take it yours is running well at the moment? Shame your not at the bottom of the issue yet :/ ours is fine at the moment, had an issue with timing being a bit advanced on the way to the gathering which I got James to remedy on the Saturday but I'm thinking with the carb trumpets and exhaust having no real silencing or restriction I need some richer needles.

Holy thread revival batman! After relatively hastily pushing the mg back together for the gathering, not a lot has happened bar we have driven it and except getting horrendously wet inside (no carpets-me no care) it's been reliable and enjoyable. Need to start getting updates rolling, this weekend we are going to track the water ingress and hopefully replace the now damaged GRP spoiler. It was reused because we couldn't afford a new one at the time and it transpires it's had the corner smashed off and rebuilt and as a result it's all wonky, something we failed to notice. So in the last few days, we have won this on eBay. Expect another update soon!

Mmmm those photos look great! It would be awesome to get a couple of the B's off here together for some photos some time in the future (preferably once I get my new wheels on)

Currently chasing 4 pot BMW engines at the moment but I'm still waiting to hear about a gearbox Forced induction would be ace but I also am still on a limited budget and making/obtaining boost-proof carbs for very little money doesn't seem easy. BMW engine on the other hand, appears to be cheap as its mostly my time spent fitting it..

Fair play, I'm currently looking at doing a couple of boost proof carbs, is gonna be a bit of a learning curve though as I've only done a fairly basic rebuild before..
4 pot BMW engine should be pretty sweet, is that one of the 2.0 16v ones?

Got a good lead on a late 1.6 MPI E30 motor which on paper, the power figures are near identical to the B series. I don't want to go mad with it as it is the missues car and she's (somehow) had a few hairy moments with the B series as it is. To be fair, there will always be the scope to fit bigger 4-banger BMW engines later anyway.

Ah cool stuff, good effort getting a bit lairy with a b series.. the e30 engine should give some decent refinement and practicality benefits over the b series in any case, in addition to weighing a bit less I imagine

Now that's a cool looking MGB! Looks like it tears the tarmac up.

So following on from previous posts, we were offered an Eunos Roadster at silly money so snapped it up. Its a 1.6 B6ZE(RS) and we were planning on weeding out the engine loom from the car loom, but then RobinJI offered us the MegaSquirt from his old race car, so a deal was struck, a new DB37 loom bought and crudely hashed onto the cars sensors for a test run. Et VoilĂ ! Once we had it running, it was time to remove. So now, we have a motor and box on the garage floor! Hooray! Unfortunately the previous owner had driven it for too long with a buggered clutch, so now I need a clutch and flywheel. But I believe B-8-D has got one knocking about, so more RR buddies to the rescue! Plans now involve cleaning the million miles of oily gunk off it and oil-tight-ing it, replacing the guff Mazda throttle body with one from a Volvo V40 2 litre (watch this space) and a general tidy up.
