Sold a diesel cat on ebay and the curse word who picked it up smashed into the back of smokey. Gutted to say the least, not that much damage but still shook me up enough. I was turning around in a local small Tesco car park, stopped to let someone go, the other 'driver' pointed that my splitter was falling off, which it wasn't.. fella came to get back in the car, saw other driver start reversing, banged on his window to stop him to which he ignored and just hit me I wouldn't of bothered if it was just my light but he's dented the bodywork too.

Damn, that must have been pretty gutting when that happened! Still, I am sure you and your contacts should have it back in order in no time .

Sorry to hear about your incident can't believe the morons out there. I can't believe how easy it is though to get a drivers licence now days its easier than getting a gun licence. It makes me so angry to see unneccesary dents because people are stupid. I'm having the rear quarter panel on my car repaired because some idiot drove into a shopping trolley which in turn ran into the side of my car. And then he just drove away

Gutted for you dude! This one didn't drive away but still didn't give us any details. Tried to blame it all on his lack of the english language

give his reg to insurance , they will deal with it , or go to soliceter and he will go for damage and whipplash,. I had someone try and force their way past my BMW 2002 when I was waiting to pull out. My bumper put a crease along their offside rear quarter. (Karma?) I was stationary but he still tried to blame me for hitting him. Fast forward 7 days and my insurance company call to tell me he's submitted a claim for his ''injuries''! Unbelievable. There are just too many dodgy drivers making claims for non-existent injuries nowadays. Hope you can get that dent sorted fella. Awkward place to repair.

Yeah, looks like I may have to have the whole panel replaced. Gotta speak to a lad that fella knows who might be able to sort it too.
Phoned his insurance and he hadn't reported the accident so I'm currently waiting news from his insurance to see what they say. We've been and took more pics of his car though in case he tries to deny it.

Just had the same experience. Got rear ended a couple of days ago, by white van on way home from collecting my e28.

Hi Gem,
I'm really sorry to hear about the damage - it's so frustrating when something so 'small' can be such a pain to get fixed. Like you say, if it had been just the rear light it'd have been a lot better. I hope you get it sorted OK?
On the subject of the lights, I have to say I was never a fan of the tinted rears. I LOVE the rest of the car - all of it. But the rear lights in dark tint were the one part I wasn't keen on.
The new lights are a massive improvement over the dark tint although, for some reason, to me it makes it look a bit like an Audi 80 Avant! I guess it's because they have all red rear lights? Regardless, it's aesthetically much better. I do agree with Stu though that a set of the original lights look best on the tourings. A set of those polished to kingdom come (maybe with all the lettering/markings sanded off and polished up to make them super smooth) would just look so good on your car. Let the rest of what you've done do the talking.
I do love this car....
