	The Mako P - in simple terms, it's a German-market Granada offered in period with a Porsche V8 and various other goodies. Anyone know anything about these? Anyone speak enough German to unravel the text and glean some insights? (To make it fun, I think some pages are missing and they're in a random order. And the text's quite small too.)

	Holy poop...!!! That is one hum-dinger of a luxo-barge... I do have a copy of Car or Autocar from 1979 with a page or 2 on this fabulous car which I will have to dig out and scan for your eye-popping amusement...!!! I wonder if there are any of these cars knocking about in Germany...?! I do hope there are...

	Any idea what gearbox this has? I thought the 928 had a rear-mounted transaxle effort so presumably not that, and I doubt they used a type 9, due to the 90% likelihood of it exploding on the first spirited acceleration manoeuvre.

	The Capri had a Mustang engine. They chose the name Mako to fit the letters in the Ford badge. After that it gets more difficult. As transmission there was either a ZF-5-speed or a Mustang-4-speed, the Mustang apparently with different ratios. There have been different carburretors, too. Either Solex 4A1 with an altered intake manifold or Holley (600cfm, 750cfm, 780cfm) On request you could get 4 trailing links, Panhard and coil springs at the rear axle for a higher price. The ratio of the rear axle was 2,79:1 or 3,00:1. It looks like always the parts have been built in, which Mako-Automobiles got cheap. Hydraulic clutch from Mercedes, power brake from BMW(?), front brakes either Peugeot or Granada, rims in different makes and seizes... The Mako was built til 1978, that means also as Capri 78 (III). Mysterious still is the number of built Makos. Officially there are 33 Mako Capri II and 17 Mako Capri III, Gerd KnÃ¶zinger speaks from a maximum of 33 or another time from 36. Tech specs: Motor: V8 90Â° Boss 302 cubic capacity: 4949ccm Power: 250 hp @ 5800 rpm Torque: 360 Nm @ 4300 rpm Transmission ratio: Mustang 2,32 - 1,69 - 1,29 - 1 : 1 in leaflet: 2,78 - 1,93 - 1,36 - 1 : 1 Acceleration 0-100 kph: 6,9 sec High speed: 240 kph
