Spotted this beauty at a 'local show for local people'....well some Berkshire country show for those who enjoy sunstroke. But they had a reasonable selection of nice cars. I haven't seen such a clean example for years, let alone a gordini. Never got a chance to speak to the owner, but I thought this was the best of the bunch. I must have taken over 24 SLR shots of the detailing.....sad sad boy. Exotic Alfa Romeo Montreal Ultimate mafia car? A neat Fiat 130 Saloon, I think this has the V6 lump in it. Another Exotic. 1982 Bristol - had to put it on here as its quite good looking compared to some other Bristols. 2nd favourite Renault of the show. A mid fifties 4CV. The owner has tuning plans for this one - he races his Dauphine and 8S regularly. A modern rarity a Vauxhall Viceroy (or is it a Royale?) A nice MK1 Escort Van with my favourite wheels. Spot the eighties customing idea? Another seemingly eighties custom job. Poor van looked really tired and seemed quite ill with those 3 spokes. Clean Chevette van. Could be an interesting project to put a 2300 lump in it. A lovely 131 Sport. The owner is a bit of Mirafiori fan and has a few different variants of the car. Love those alleycats too. I would show you more piccys but yours truly lost his other memory card. I've kicked my self repeatedly and is a lesson to us all.

there is absolutely no need for Tri-spokes at the best of times, let alone on a Transitoflove ;D

Is that a real car? it looks like someone's been attacking a minor or a mini with a kit... That Alfa is trouser tentingly fab...

lol. It certainly is for real. In France this car was considered the 'French morris minor' but had a rear engine and had a slightly more advanced spec. And it was released for sale in 1946, pre-dating the minor by 2 years and the mini by 13.
They sent this car to the yanks, who initially loved it. Until the floors fell out due to terminal rust....

fabulous. It's futuristic like Ed Strakers car in UFO, in a sort of dated but still funky way. How can you even notice the Cortina next to it. Should be in Gordini blue though!
ps An old girlfriend of mines dad built Ed Strakers car,and Chitty Chitty bang bang!!

Poor Transit. It could be saved with a nice set of wheels. (Now where are those 15" Wellers? ;D ;D)

There was a restoration feature on a 17 in PC (bah!) a while ago, did anybody see it? From what I remember, the guy had a pretty tough time searching for parts, not surprisingly!
It'd be a tough call between the 17 and the Mk1 Triumph 2000 in the background tho', I'd love one of those.

I'm lovin that Bedford Chevanne (the Chevette van) now there's a motor with some sleeper potential! ;D Imagine that with a 2300 slant four in there, or better still an XE, looking dead standard, but going like a bat out of hell! ;D

I believe that van belongs to Dave Hart, who I bought my Samba rallye from and who has a house fuller of car magazines, models and scrap books than i had thought was physically possible.
He sold me the Samba to make way for a Nova Sport (hmmm).

Re. Red vauxhall: Definately a vicerory: This was basically a slightly poshed up Carlton with a different nose. I think my ol' pops had one of these many years ago as part of his now-defunct mini cab empire - a little bit different to the mainstay of e-class mercs, mark2 grannies and nasty montego's....

I didn't say I don't like Triumph 2000s, lovely car. I said that Strombergs are buggers to tune. I know this from experience, I have an Imp with twin Strombergs at the moment.

I've got a MK1 on Strombergs and after rebuilding them ,they still act the maggot, sometimes it'll start on choke sometimes it wont, one will flood then the other, it'll drop onto 3,4,5 cylinders when it feels like, have now got a set of SUs but need throttle linkage as its different... but pump up the tyre pressures to 31-32 and it'll corner like a Mini while rolling like the QE2!!

I love these coupes. They have to be one of my favorite Renaults, along with early 16's and the Floride. I still have my Matchbox Superfast Renault 17 ..it was always one of my favorites ;D The Bristol is unusual but those wheels are positively offensive... worse even than the three spokes of the Transit (which is crying out for a set of Turbo vecs BTW, ala A-team van)
