Back in ?? When it was in retro cars mag around 4 years ago I did have the yellow covered bulb things.made the headlights look yellowish in the same way those blue tint ones do in older cars.I'll ask around and see if I can drop the lens' off and pick up later.I'm scared to say it but I'm pretty sure the cars now finished.......I do however need to see if I can get the door off and painted and unless I'm distracted by my sons cars build interruptions from the retro esyerel caravan I'm refurbing to to sell...seems everything wants some of my time.I've got a few days if in July and some more in august so ideally I'd like to seal up the rat rods tea bag body.that way I can move parts outs the garage and into the rod freeing up space to get the granny back on the floor.where are you based and what kinda money are you after for any parts you have? Mk2 cossie had his whole car rebuilt in fresh steel but its been outdoors since so he would probaly appreciate stuff too

TBH the only thing I have that is MK2 exclusive is the repair panel, don't want any money for it if you can fins it a good home. I'll let you know if I find anything that looks MK2ish but I'm pretty sure it all went soem years ago.
Forgot to say what a good read your thread made - was excited for you when it looked like you were going to hit the road, then spotted that was 2017! Got to admire the way you didn't sulk but added NOS and more styling - Good man!

Thankyou ,the cars become a bit of a mission and there have been a few times where I just didn't wan I anymore. The biggest slow down is simply the money.I buy stuff off eBay,from booot fairs etc refurb it or just flip it to raise money to build the car.I've also sold parts as I've gone to pay for better parts.the same goes for my sons car.I'm hoping that if all goes well and I can afford to,I'm looking at running it next year to as many meets and shows as possible, its such a boost driving around in a can that I've quite literally turned every single but and bolt on.I've also made some very good friends through owning this car and that can be even more rewarding than the car.I could never have got this far on my own and really appreciate all the help I've had over the many years.from joining a Granada forum back in the early 2000's I've records eery single thing I've done to the car too.I have a YouTube channel documenting the entire build from just going to meets, through the taking the car off the road for a complete strip down right through to the interior...the cars more like a family member than a mode of transport these days.the only thing on my want list now is water injection but to buy that I'd need to sell my rare rs alloys......pretty much all the sellable parts I have left now.....oh and the metalflake powder coated rocker covers.

Sentimental old duffer I'm no different! Occasionally 'just a car' becomes that flea ridden family member who keeps peeing on the floor. You find you just can't bring yourself to walk that last walk down to the woods with a 12 bore, so you just keep paying out for vet bills. Had a simular wobble myself a few years back when I decided to get shot of everything but pulled the car from sale at the last knockings - just couldn't say goodbye It certainly helps finding good friends who all share a common interest. These forums are great for that although I still miss the anticipation of the 'Granada Gazette' falling through the letterbox Hmmmm "metalflake powder coated rocker covers" Nows there is something crying out to be made into a V6 inspired led lamp shade type thingy if ever there was. >I like green interiors too< Heres hoping your fortures change for the positive so you and your son can enjoy stress free builds from now on!

the rocker covers may well end up on ebay along with a pair of nice front wings too. thanks to photobucket blurring all my images unles I sell a kidney and give them the proceeds itll stay that way and as much as mk2cossie helps out posting images for me,the rest of this thread will be unseeable so I'm gonna call it a day on this thread. the car should be road ready early next year so hopefully i'll get the chance to get to meets and shows so people can see what ive done in the flesh thankyou all for the support over the years and also to this forum for letting me post here

Tried to sort out an image host..... 7 hour road trip to get the last part of the build. Had to modify it a tad and also edit some of the garage furniture etc to get it into the garage itself but it's in. Not secured yet but its in. Read seats gone and once the cage is bolted in, the twin 1kg extinguishers will be fixed to it along with the safety devices decals. The rear of the car will be tidied up and all exposed metal wrapped in suedette to match the door cards and seats..... So much for being finished..

If it were my shout; I would like to see the back seat reinstated to keep up the apearance of a 'bullet speed grocery getter' rather than a 'tin canned track traveller' - Welcome back btw Doesn't need to be a functional seat either - trim the width if needed and fit a hinge on the base seat and you have instant hidden storage too... ...Or, use the seat material to fit a matching baby seat with harness!

I was looking at making a thin ply template to cover in matching sued to put down where the seat base would go. there are stupid voids so I need to cover them with something. I plan on covering the exposed metal cross panel that sits behind the seat back, with matching suede too. no one ever sits in the back so not really much point trying to squeeze the seat back in now. may even move the nos bottle and spare wheel into the rear seat base area.would be able to use the bot again then

so I buy and sell stuff t o pay for the car project stuff and this is the latest project. really good condition, minimal rust and once ive got the stupid stickers off it,polished the chrome and fitted the completely white tyres I already had in the loft I recon this should look the part. last time I flipped something like this I regretted the selling part........but moneys money so it had to go.this however just looks so damn cool with just raking the bars forward. will need to sort and sell this asap or else I fear i'll end wanting to keep it upload pictures online

more polishing and reassembling. painted the pedals out black too.chrome front light should arrive in a day or so, as should the frame decals to match the 4 aces one i've already stuck on.the material is bought too wing mirrors are order as well so apart from the actual sewing of the new seat material its pretty ,much done. total so far around £100. should still see some worthwhile profit at the end used carpet cleaner to unyellow the grubby tyres .....didn't do a bad job at all

Nice job on the bike. I have never seen anyting like that around where I live, but this is not a very bike friendly city. It seems like you know what you are doing. I liked the cards on the side and the fading from silver to black.

Thanks mate. Low rider bikes and beach cruisers are getting popular these days. The base is a bratz bike believe it or not. Ian brown used one in a few of his videos. Despite the raked bars, it's actually really comfy to ride. The wheel reflectors won't be staying on.... Just looked back at the pics and they look too modern. The cards are to be be part of the theme of the bike. Graphics will read "Aces are low baby" as in mixing the cards thing with the low rider. There's dice on the valve caps too.
