Back working on the "Snotrod"

I've seen that,it's really cool. I was looking at making something up for the farm so at open days people could meet the stars. Was going to be "lil grey," red" and Scoops ( the green John deere)
The service users there love the tractors and I'm looking into buying a cheap pony cart to modify. I want to make one into a passenger bench that mounts onto the 3 point rear end.
I'm in a car group that does private, invite only meets and the guy who runs that has asked to have a meet there. Next year should be busy, got a mate at work in a fire engine owners club and he said he'd get a bunch of engines in for an open day too. My friend Rob brought his Mk2 granny there this year so I grabbed some pics

Finished the air box on my sons car so now it's my projects that get attention

Completely unrelated but we just bought another oldie. Not as old as the current projects but it's a 1997 so it's not far off the retro era. Saw it online, fell in love and literally bought it blind over the phone. Seller couldn't have been more helpful and delivered it too. Yes it needs a ton of work, but it's a running, non rotten low mileage,unmolested, 2 owner project car and that's a good enough place to start

But having had on of my own years ago, it's nice that my son has followed my lead. My wife had one years ago too and its been my sons dream car for over 5 years now. Fair play to him, he's been working a ton of extra hours for months now to save up the cash for it and now...... now he'll have to keep working them to pay for whatever its gonna cost to get this up to spec 😂😂🤣
Don't want your kids smoking, drinking or doing drugs? Get em into old cars.... They'll never have enough money to afford any bad habbits

What a long rubbish day. Car looks a ton better but the door speakers are.... arent🙄....... the aerial does still work, the stereo works, I swapped a wiper blade, the battery isn't t any good or even the right one for the car and the clutch..... Kinda isn't actually a clutch. That needs sorting and as per Mr Cossies advice, the belt, waterpump etc will all be done together. The wonder wheels stuff isn't worth using. A squirt of washing up liquid would have done better. The lower lip is a different shade, the os front wings been painted at some point, the drivers door trim is the wrong colour, the spoiler needs some paint and the rear bumper was painted by the same person who did the front wing.
So where are we??? .....
It runs after a jump start and purrs like a kitten. Need a ns headlight bulb, 4 new tyres, a clutch and engine end parts, a service, door speakers, some paint and a drivers seat.
About 2k at a guess inc the paint.
I'll be hunting down the speakers and seats etc, the paint will be done by Barney Sands in Ebbsfleet as they have been painting our cars since 2010.
Mot and clutch first and my son will just enjoy the car. Will have to get a lot of hours in at work to finance this car. But...... Its gonna be an appreciating classic and its also his dream car so it won't be going anywhere, vid link at bottom with all today pics etc

Fitted a battery in the mr2 as well. Damn it runs so bloody sweet........ A bit jealous to be honest.

I had a dirty great black one in the garage that looked like it was made of velvet. I ignored it for months..... And one day while fitting an engine bay part in sliders, the dirty sod walked over and bit my foot. He was sprayed liberally with wd40. Friendship expired😒

While trying to source a trailer to ship the mr2 to the garage, I started repurposing an old loft space in the farm. I've repaired most the walls now and have dragged the metal emu and salvaged farm stuff into the area too. Pig pen plates, a fork, chicken coups and foul feeders. Still a load to do but it's already looking better and they're pretty happy with it so far too

I did keep one pig pen plate though, I'm restoring that to give to the lady who runs the farm as a surprise present.

Got me a small 12v battery to seat next to the cars normal battery purely to run the grannies led lighting. The cars old and if I were to leave it on at a show or a meet somewhere, I just know the damn thing won't restart.
Battery was free and that's pretty much my favourite number.

Tore my self to bits last Friday dragging insulated roofing sheets across the farm and stacking them before moving a load of stuff with the tractor.
Got home and discovered the book I wrote and illustrated for the farm had arrived from the printers 😎 already started on the next one which will be a ton better now I know what I need to do before it's sent for editing at the computer it place.
Yes the cover is damaged, it was the one the printers taped to the box lid. The undamaged ones are being sold in the farms shop or given as Xmas presents when people visit Santa at the farm.

So a guy at the farm decided to add a new chunk of flooring despite being to not to. The staff went mad and i won't lie, I lost my ####. 100 year old wood everywhere and then a big ugly rectangle of fresh pine. The staff tried staining it.... Nope..... They tried sanding it..... Nope. The guy got a floorboard sander.... Nope.
So yesterday I spent hours on my knees with a belt sander. Then I stained it using 2 rollers. One small radiator onen to apply it and a large one to remove some where required. All fixed now and the bespoke bench and chairs are in the loft thanks to a small road trip in the farms landie with the livestock trailer
Still a load to do but I've broken the back of it.
I've managed to source some tractor lights for the 135 massey now so that's firmly on my next job list.
Ideally I'd like an area at the farm where I could build a small garage to stick the granada in as the sites always manned or locked up securely.

Back at the farm and checked the lights on my sons mr2. passenger side was a no no. Forgot what a pain it was to change the bulbs on one was.... Been 16 years since I had one. Turns out it's H4 fitment and by chance I'd stripped the tractor headlights down to paint them 2 hours prior. So the bulb was dropped into the mr2. Painted the headlight cowls for the tractor in one of the meerkat indoor enclosures seeing as it isn't in use right now. Then it was up into the loft area to carry on up there. Made a ton of progress!!

Dropped the coolant out the 1952 massey on Friday and chucked 5 litres of blue antifreeze in..... They like to crack their blocks and I've seen how you split a tractor, and I'm not up for any of that.
Finished the loft space this evening too, if it had a pool table and a shower I'd move in.... There are a few charity shop items in there like the seating, pictures ect and used tool stuff too but I think it all adds to the used look
