thanks mate, that's what I was wondering. the cars actually ok for blatting around in as it is so nos would be fine for occasional blips. don't fancy any more leaks, being an old ford it leaks pretty much everything possible from every possible place as it is. nos it is then just wanted to rule out other options first in case there was something better out there

I'm up for that bert, always fancied running the old girl up the quarter mile. doubt i'll be setting any land speed records but its been a while since I've a run the strip so would be good fun. wouldn't mind a launch pic either, they always look good. guess I should bring the AA card then having heard both cars in a tunnel all that time ago, i'm sure that the noise of both cars at full chat would be something special too with 65+ years in age and nearly 400k miles across the two cars itd be interesting to see how they hold up

I like the panel you have made across the back of the engine bay to cover the heater blower etc, did you make it yourself? Hopefully my Granada will be ready soon too.

the panel was made by me mate. I got a long sheet of cardboard and drew the shape it needed to be on it. then used that as a template for the aluminium. I nut and bolted through the metal underneath and there's a nut sat just under the ally panel for it to sit on. I use wing nuts to hold it down from above. at the front to make it stronger I pop riveted a length of tile edging / beading to it so it had a ridge. to make a seal from the sharp scuttle panel that sits under it I used the rubber strip from an office desk. its usually at the back of the desk and hides the plugs ,only the wires poke through. that was cut to length and simply pushes onto the scuttle/ bulkhead top edge. cost under £10 to make so cheap as chips.

Also, don't forget that mr has the bonnet raised at the back so there is a massive air gap. With a normal shut bonnet the air inlet for the fan is fed through the vents on the bonnet near the windscreen

what a poxy day........................................... thought I'd slap the battery charger onto the battery terminals (no battery fitted) so I could trace the 12v switched feed from the ignition. soon as I hit the switch the fuel pump fired up? it shouldn't as the relay for the pump wasn't switched,or at least it shouldn't have been??? then I hear that horrible dripping noise. power off and yayyyy therse fuel on the floor under the engine bay. a quick look and it becomes obvious the fuel line has started to split. so armed with a small section of pipe i'll be getting two replacement relays and some more fuel line after work. had to un cable tie so many wires, just so I could see what the hell I put to what. was easy fitting it but ive got so many extra wires that have been fitted as the cars progressed ive forgotten where most go to, spent 20 minutes following two wires through the ever increasing and cable tied loom and eventually traced them to the air fuel sensor in the exhaust that I'd completely forgotten about. may mark the wires for future reference now

well my new go faster bits arrived....................along with a £60 import bill annoyingly.... been seeing what looks right and where things can go. I do need the two rear inner quarter boot carpet sections now as mine were binned during the 2008-2010 strip down and refit so got to see if any of my old contacts for spares still have parts. heres the much bigger than expected bottle being placed around the boot area. i'll run the gas line through the arm rest and through the car to keep it as straight as possible.the four points harnesses mean there's no sitting in the rear so not a problem

Got electrics to sort and I need to sort the fuel lines throughout thanks to splits I discovered by accident. Wont see tarmac until 2017.need to replace the headlight wiring too. Then I need to save up for tax and insurance etc.I only run the car every three years as I have to save up for the road costs.I'm hoping the pre nos mods will see 160 BHP at the rear wheels so with the current jetting on the nosbI should touch the goal of 200 horses at the pirellis
