Love this car!! Looks the same as mine, cept my wheels are white/polished RCs and I'v hurricane vaders. What spacers were you running with your BBS RCs? Where they staggered? Need to get some for mine but unsure what width i need. You should join up bmw-driver.net an Irish BMW site but your E36 would fit right in.

Cheers mate 30mm was the biggest I ran on the front with a 205/40 tyre on standard arches. I ran 25mm out back but my arches are rolled and this was with 7.5j all round, they weren't staggered. Hope this helps! Got some new wheels all painted up and fitted to... Couple of phone pics. Still need to wash it and get some better pics

Ohhhh, parcels today!!! ^ THE crappest boss in history.. Steering wheel inside! What a fookin nightmare..Five minute job thinks I.. I bought the boss off ebay for £25, the next day they had them on there for £10 which curse word me off before I'd even started. The boss is curse word. The slip ring wouldn't fit on so I had to faff about trimming things and grinding the boss to get it to fit, the hole for the horn wiring is in the wrong place so I had to faff with that. I put the wheel just on the spines to make sure it was straight, drove in a straight line to end of the road to make sure, stopped at the end of the road to do the bolt up..Mmmm, really tight on the splines.. The boss is ali so I wound it on with the bolt thinking " I hope I don't have to take this off again because I don't think I'll be able to..". All done...turn ignition on... horn on continuously! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Soooo I'm stuck at the end of my road outside someone elses house unable to move my car without the horn going all the time. Much wiggling and pulling on the wheel finally got it off, more faff with the slipring/wiring, stabbed myself in the hand with stanley knife, contemplated slitting my wrists, and we're there! 10 mins with the horn and I'm all done. So much for a five minute job!! Loving the wheel, stick some pics up when I get the chance. Ah, one more parcel.. Shiny!

Hi, Nice car, Like the wheels. I've got to do the brake pipes on mine this weekend, any tips before I start? Thanks Erm...make sure you don't have much fuel, undo the tank straps and drop the tank on top of the prop (no need to remove prop as some say). Take the rear bench out and take of the lid thingies (technical term) off above the sender units. . You can get the new pipes in the clips through the holes using these. Iirc the rear exhaust as to come off too As long as the old pipes undo ok then it's not as hard as some make out, just fiddley really. Good luck!

Looks good fella. Personally I think it would look even better without the boot spoiler which erm, kinda spoils the lines. Clear front lenses would look cleaner too.

Thanks I have a spoilerless boot in my shed, run out of paint half way through! It will get done at some point Done clears/smoked indicators, much prefer the amber ones tbh! pOGSee above.. You got a thread on yours? puma931Nah! front would last about ten miles before it got smashed to bits... I do like the rear GT spoilers but they're fooking expensive and I prefer the no spoiler look Got a crappy pic of the wheel. Got a handbrake and gear gaiter to go on, oil change and filter and new coilovers to do tomorrow. *do not rain*

Not really. I did start one on here years ago when I got it, but [though it's older than your one, maybe the earliest one left?] it wasn't really 'retro' at the time so was met with a bit of 'meh'. So I never really updated it. It's been everything from our only car to an occassional weekend toy, raced, abused, used to pull trailers, loved, cherished and all stops in between. Laid up for the last 15 months since the engine went kaboom, but have sourced another unit which [hopefully this time] is a decent one. A '91 then? *goes to find old thread* Glad I've given you some inspiration mate

And rain it did! Got drenched, cold, p*ssed off but got there in the end. Interior: coilovers: Got more camber at the front now. Need to fiddle with the height a bit (lower maybe???), put a 3mm spacer on instead of a 5mm 'cos it catches at full lock slightly.

Trying to stop the new coilover threads seizing up like the old ones did.. Got the suggestion of "Lizardskins" used for mountian bike suspension from a member on another forum. I could either fit one on each strut (under the springs) or use two on each side (covering the spring too) It's one hell of a squeeze getting just the one over the threads and will be a pain in the fitting/adjusting once on the car. Soo looks like I'll have to buy another two for the otherside. Had a quick mock up on my old coils.. Measured the ones on the car and once compressed with the cars weight, they're more than long enough to go right to the top of the spring. I'll just use insulation tape on the threads under the adjusters because I know this works and keeps them clean. Should work me-thinks

Smaller front spacers are on. No scrubbing now Also changed oil/filter. Lowered the front more too.. A bit dark for pics! Got some rear bumpstops and new topmounts for the back, not fitted yet, the old ones squeek and do my head in!

Properly cool car mate!
I miss my old 'is....I remember at the time getting fed up with the lack of urgency from the engine, but having owned my 325Ci for 2 years everything is too easy....the 'is had to be ragged to death but that made it quite good fun it seems......

Thanks mate Yeah you have to keep it on the boil to get anywhere at a decent pace! (M42 has less midrange than the M44 yours had). I know what you mean though, I've thoughs lots about getting another e36 six pot instead of this..I do quite enjoy the peakyness of it though

Smoked front indicators on, along with yellow(ish) bulbs instead of amber ones for the running lights. Also all red rears.. I could only find green bulbs that are expensive or are from the US with silly postage costs, but I had some paint in the shed to make them shine the correct colour. Before During (yes, I'm a traveller and I don't care) After. Hah, much more plod pleasing colour. Hasn't burnt off yet but time will tell
