A few bits done.. Lowered it a bit more. Took a few pics yesterday, here they are, before 500 seagulls wibblepoo all over it.. Bought this GT rear spoiler.. Had a few cracks in the paint so rubbed it down and thought filler primer would sort it. Primed it up, had me tea, went back out an hour later... errr... Soooo, start rubbing it down and it's not painted under the black paint, it's some sort of plastic coating that's not been keyed and is super shiny, hence the cracking. Took me nearly two ours to get this far with diluted nitromors and white spirit. Well it's on! Some may think it'd look better silver but I like it black, works with the rest of the car imo

Blimey, this looks great. Those AC Schnitzers are my favourite wheel on the e36. Looks absolutely spot on!

Hello! Cheers guys. This was for sale but no one wanted to buy it. Its obviously worth more to me than anyone else.. Sooo I'm keeping it. It flew through the MOT with one advisory (handbrake curse word on one side) which I was well chuffed with! I'd replaced all discs and pads (and erm, handbrake shoes..) and also four new tyres because it desperately needs four wheel alignment which is on the list in a couple of weeks. I also replaced the plastic spigot rings because they're a pain in the hole to get the wheels on, especially with the spacers on the back. the plastic ones were I replaced them with metal jobbies. Used plenty of white grease on the so hopefully they wont corrode to the hubs, time will tell.. I purchased this a couple of weeks ago.. Should be going in next weekend! excited!! One thing I have learnt is that I should have bought a complete doner car instead of engine/loom/etc. I've spent over twice as much as thought I was going to. Also the engine is from a '95 car and the EWS cant be deleted off the ecu, so I had to buy another ecu with it deleted (and remapped ) otherwise it wont fire up as my car doesn't have EWS as its a early car. Fingers crossed it all goes to plan. I'm still going to plastidip the car but waiting for warmer weather

Coming along nicely! I love the way the whole front end comes off the E36 makes taking the engine in and out so much easier. GT spoiler looks ace too.

Now you've done one, do you want to come and do mine, just a like for like swap will do. Great work, it was a shame when you looked at selling it. I think the gt spolier will be nice silver. Then you will need a gt front lip, BT don't think you would get very far at that height.

It was quite chilly but we were lucky it didn't rain really.. The 8er is Kev's, the guy whos house it was where we done the swap. Very nice chap, with much knowledge on swapping engines in bmw's.

It all come apart so easily too, had one small bolt break off on the grill panel on the whole front end. Gt spoiler needs paint again, it is some sort of plastic coated thing and difficult to key for paint. Its peeing off but I blame the downforce!!

Then you will need a gt front lip, BT don't think you would get very far at that height. Haha! Erm..I'm just over doing mine and had LOADS of help mate.. I don't think I'd be confident enough or want to have the grief of doing someone elses car tbh Front lip of any kind won't last long, although front has been raised slightly. The pics were from the beginning of the month. Old engine was out and new in and running in about eight hours. It's not been without it's teething problems though. It had a really rough idle and wouldn't run with the maf plugged in (amoungst lots of other bits..). On the drive home from Kev's it wouldn't rev over 5k like it was hitting a limiter. After some friendly advice I found out it's to do with the abs speed sensor and running a 318is diff with the m52 engine. After some soldering from pin 15 on the ecu to pin 2 on the blue plug on the back of the clocks we had full revs (7200rpm yikes!). After spraying easy start around the engine bay with it running it was obvious I had a vacuum leak, I replaced the grommet from the icv to the manifold with no joy so took the manifold off. I'd got another gasket for under the manifold as it was defo drawing air in from this area. Upon further inspection there was a hole that looked like it should have a hose attached but didn't.. Looking at realoem and knowledge from others it seemed that there should be a blanking cap on this, so I made one up and put the manifold back on. Erm.. I had a problem starting the car here but it absolutely wasn't due to me fitting the fuel pipes the wrong way, Nooo siree!! The ccv was completely blocked too. Have some pics! I was getting so fed up but all this worked, runs sweet as a nut now I love it with the IS diff still on too, glad I didn't swap it out Got my AC exhaust on also! :eyebrows Got all the tar off and gave the tailpipes a quick polish with my trusty £10 drill.. Rob was in charge of fitting the other box at the time and I have never known 8mm nuts to be sooo tight!!! All fitted Sounds groovy! Also changed the bonnet struts as I finally had enough of the thing randomly shutting on my head. I wanted a induction kit with heatshield to replace the airbox which is cracked and flapping about as there's no brackets for it to bolt onto on the 318is, the filter is also well passed its best. Dave F and K&N kits with the heatshield are stupid money and I can't justify spending that much wedge. Any cheap kits I've seen are cheap for a reason! So I thought I'd make my own.. Filter for £15, 80mm silicone elbow for £11 and some 80mm aluminium pipe for £8 and a couple of quid for two jubilee clips. I got an old H&S sign from work and some door seal from an old forklift.. Used a bit of cardboard to get the correct shape, roughly cut and bent, painted up with rubbers seals on, And fitted to the car.. I'm happy with it! Superb knicker wetting induction BWWARRP too!! Quicker but probably just because the old filter was so fooked.. Still got these to put on at some point..

Video! Not bad as the 'box linkage bushes need renewing and it takes ages to change gear (need a Z3 lever to lower the throw as well) Had to shut off as I ran out of roa.........errrm......runway 328i-3.45 diff - YouTube

Got my allignment done at Aaron Reeve performance a few weeks ago. Only just realised I didn't get a printout.. Never mind, it's done the trick! Car tracks straight and feels LOADS better to drive. Should have done it sooner, should save me some on tyres too! Pics Minor issues getting on/off the ramp!! Aaron also fitted one of his sumpguards which look a decent piece of kit And an action shot!

Boring update but ho hum! Filled up with v power and brimmed the tank again after 81 miles. 1mpg gain!! Wooo!! On a serious note I think it's getting better. Brimmed to 3 1/4 of a tank was 81 miles, today it was 124 miles to the same mark. Not exactly scientific but will find out next time I fill up
