Well at least that is one nice thing to say about that white Cabrio!.. certainly interesting. It makes you appreciate the blue V8 & unfinished HAMB coupe all the more. Despite all the flat-6 talk I fail to see how it could easily be incorporated into the DS structure since the 4 was mounted well into the cabin almost between the frt passengers feet.. and Citroen's earliest "6" prototypes had hung the engine out front. Do that & you're heading into 4wd Audi V8 turbo ideas! Not so spacy-quirky avant-guard. I always remember the DS from the 1965 movie "The 10th victim" iridescent blue metallic, clear blue tinted acrylic roof, pure white interior. A mild roof chop, low on its suspension & even spacy covered front wheels wouldn't go astray either.

What would be awesome is to build the super-DS, essentially a 4-door SM, which was planned by Citroen but got binned due to the failure of the SM and the oil crisis. Put the Maserati engine in a DS, why not go four-wheel-drive as well, just for the sake of it.

Now that sounds like the perfect recipe for a DS FroggyClement . Whilst I would have preferred an engine from a Maserati or some crazy and wonderful used I do love how that modified DS has been finished . Any more information of the DS tow car?

Do that & you're heading into 4wd Audi V8 turbo ideas! Not so spacy-quirky avant-guard. You are right, it would be a very tight fit. On Winfield's Reactor, it appears that the driving position is set right back so making room where your feet would have been. Fine for a one off custom but not really practical for a stocker. wonder if a V6 would work? For the original DS concept the intention was to use an 1800cc flat 6 mounted ahead of the axle, initially water cooled, but later converted to air cooling. It proved to be too thirsty, short of power and despite the extensive use of alluminium, too heavy. They were forced to use the Traction's long stroke straight four. Looking at the chassis punt, I would think that this was adapted to take the Traction's power pack rather than being designed around it. That big bite out of the front floor looks a bit of an after thought on something so well thought out otherwise. The 10th Victim looks like quite a movie, if that is the best scene, I can hardly wait to see the rest! Lovely DS though. EDIT - just re-read your post, properly. You knew all of this anyway. Sorry 'bout that.
