Tynemouth VW Rally + Beardmore Kitten

Only in its second year , went to the VW Tynemouth Rally on Sunday , it's about ten minutes from me .

Great turnout , TV / papers there too etc

The last thing I expected to see there was this :




Ex Beardmore Bros Kitten , one of the cars to really get me into modified old motors Street Machine mag 1990 ish and all that jazz..








I'm trying to snap a legend here , just move your 'It Ain't Half Hot Mum ' shorts over a tad would you ? ta

And that's your lot . Pretty hard to get pics of some stuff as there were so many people there but a great local show . Really needs to be moved somewhere bigger next year though .


Even though there were dozens of Beetles and Campers , my three favourite things were ..........


This gorgeous KG . Saw it at the Druridge Bay show a few weeks back also and it's just a stunning car , beautiful interior too .



Cool old Porsche , I can even put up with the roof tat !



And that Kitten , just brilliant .

VWs all cool and that but phew! never seen that kiten before (always had a hankering for one of those - a bit closer to standard mind)

the kitten now sports a chevy ls lump, it was going to be a 3.9 super charged rover lump
the owner lives in sunderland and has a bodyshop up foxhunters in tynemouth.

Looking at the 7th picture down, I would say that that is a chevy LS engine, and even more cool that ever.

Can't be many builds that are getting on for 25 years old that still look so fresh and on the money, that Kitten really does stand the test of time. A true icon.
