Time to breakout Photoshop since I knew most of those stripes could be done better: Sill striping is still a classic and doesn't HAVE to look like those of the Shelby Mustang, though I'd probably want Accord text since too many people these days think they're Civics! I really like that Civic style hooked stripe too And the Boss Mustang style pouring from the bonnet vents But obviously it wants some extra imagination to not look copied; experimenting with frt striping to match vent outlets and the "Sun" motif More experimentation. I did avoid the lengthways top striping as being a little unimaginative, though there's still many options there. There is of course no end to the colour & pattern options with ladders, striped, strobes, text etc. so not much excuse for generic stripes copied from something else.

I've been thinking along the same lines for the Scimitar.
Sill stripes suit almost everything, as long as they're not too heavy looking, and IMO should follow the bumper line as much as the profile of the car will allow. I think a black stripe works particularly well on a car with dark wheels as all the 'weight' of the design is low down. (Option 1)
But I also like your hooked stripe just under the window line (option 5), as it's so '70s.

Once you get started it's hard to stop. I like this "arrow" concept. looked at it again without the lower striping and added matching lines on frt vents here. An orange version of the "hook". Definitely try to follow the body lines.. which gave that interesting 'blade' like seperation between the main stripe & it's outline on the frt fender. Integrated it to a side marker light here. A friend thought the 'arrow' concept should continue further up the rear pillar. I also wanted to try some simpler lower sill striping. And I had another concept idea. Experimenting with a stretched stripe here. Colours can be interesting! A lower sill stripe. Might look better without such prominent bumpers. Being beige I'm still not sure how I would cope with the extra attention of obvious stripes, hence I was also considering subtle "ghost" stripes by laying out an outline with pinstripe tape. Carbon effect vinyl stripes outrageous? I'm still not sure I have the confidence to apply any when I still like a clean look. Any other ideas suggestions?

I think you've come up with the best ideas already. Anything I think of just gets more and more fussy, and starts to clash with the car. It's nice to experiment with ideas, but for me, I come back to the first ideas I had. Stripes should be simple enough to be an accent to the car, not become so prominent that you can't see the car for the stripes. But what do I know ;-)

Ah ha, a picture of some original stripe decals was found from a Honda parts dealer.: Quite a nice design, apparently looks like this: Wondering what those extra smaller pieces @ top left were for, alternative application? I had also drawn up these, having seen a picture of one with this painted window surround. .

I must admit to being most horribly drawn to those horribly audacious, gaudy, garish violent orange >=HONDA=< stripes too, with black & white outlines for ultimate contrast. The stretched ends add shape where the car starts to get straight, exaggerating the hips & wheels nicely. They're just SO 1970's, work well with a beige background, and being low & where people expect to see trims anyway they don't break up the sides quite so much as the Hooks & Arrows that I also prefer.
I'm not normally a fan of such brand advertising so the car is currently debadged but I've tried de-branding & other attempts to tone those stripes down but they just don't work as well! I guess stripes aren't intended for subtlety. Reflective white? It's particularly ironic that they probably work best upon a "dull" colour like beige, white, grey etc.. And I suppose the tri-colour design would be a pain to make....
