That gear and hand brake lever are looking a bit lost in that fifties interior. Cartest can give pretty good results, but like a programs garbage in is garbage out. Just put the tyre circumference in by hand, cartest use a wrong method to calculate the most of the time.

Awesome work. When you look at old car seat rails, you can really tell that they weren't even thinking about designing the car to survive an accident. The seat rail only needed to be just strong enough to hold the driver's weight when pottering around country lanes. The idea of needing to hold the seat in place during a crash wasn't even considered! VW Beetle seat rails are a lot stronger than that, and they're still not up to the task during a moderate collision.

What pcd is the Standard? 4x4"? If so something like an Mx5 or other 4x100 disc might be a better bet for your unnatural practices. ;-)

95.25mm, Triumph Herald stuff fits, But You need the caliper bracket from the very early Ones

4x3.75" Herald uprights will go on at the front for an easy conversion to discs, but apparantly the steering arms allow too much steering lock which, according to the owner's club, will cause instant death to every nun and kitten within a 10-mile radius.

I bow my head in shame at my use of the metric system So I was told, steering confudles me, isn't it more about the angles whilst turning? Either way, if anyones got any caliper brackets from a herald and type 14 calipers, chuck them my way

I think its the track rods, they already miss the springs by mm, they'd be touching with shorter arms.
I'll rock drums for a bit, I don't think.i'll ever take her past a ton :-D

The speedo needle on mine used to regularly pass the fuel gauge & jam up against the zero stop, no problems with bearings at all!

Welcome to another riveting installment, To start, I built this, I was annoyed greatly at getting wet, now I don't, happy days Back to the car; now the engine and box are in, I wanted to get her running before pulling the lot and seam welding, paint etc. I figured fuel would be a good start, obviously I need to change the tank to an injection one. Now ideally i'd fit the Cap tank, unfortunatly Mr Standard thought that would be a retarded idea and decided to make his tank part of the floor, the spare wheel well and just miss vital components like the diff and lever arm dampers. Hmmm, I guess i'll have to fit the pump and shiznet to this. I drilled a hole, but remembering safety I first went online and checked how to stop it exploding, it seemed a right faff so I held my Zippo at the filler neck, a small pop and I was ready to go. You can see the pump above, its deep, so I drilled a hole in the bottom as well Ok, I drilled 2 cause I didn't measure and as it proves my eye is a little out. I drilled the spot welds out of the flange on the Cap tank and welded it in place, I decided to seam this to stop vapour leaks And pump in place, looks factory That was as far as I got, next up, to make a bowl, fit this baffle and seam weld it all up All in all its a neat little job

A squirt of co2 from a fire extinguisher usually does the trick.
I did one without once.... Makes you jump when it goes woooopf!

I tried my first metal stretching as shown by mr TonyBMW to follow the tank line and it works a charm, got the bowl made up for the fuel pump, just needs seam welding in now I added to extension as the tank tapers towards that big drain plug, so any fuel will flow down to the pump

Fantastic work.. Glad your having more luck with yours than i am mine.. Managed to bleed the brakes today only to find both my calipers are seized solid... And the pistons wont come out... So new calipers it is.....
Ah well.. Tbh ive gotta get some welding done on it anyway.. And fix the multitude of oil leaks before i try out said brakes..
