Think we will chug along to the August meet. I'll be bringing my young lad so if there is any stupidness I will not be happy.
Some great looking cars at the last meet.

Providing you go to Meadow Farm and not Meadowhall I'd frankly be amazed if you encountered any stupidness as there has been none at all at Meadow Farm to date that I know of.

I don't see why not, the B2 is pretty much exactly the sort of thing that should be turning up. Like this, yes? And Golfs are welcome too. So long as you're pre-2000 I can't see there being any issue with fitting in with the sort of stuff that turns up. Even if you're not pre-2000 and want to come and have a look and a chinwag feel free to park to one side and wander over to the main retro-y bit, plenty of people do that already.

Well I failed epically at this meet, and I'm really sorry for accidentally getting in the way of photographs, I'm pretty sure I did! I thought I'd be able to just drive around that end of the car park and be out of the way, no such luck. Gear selector box imploded while I was in Sheffield and I limped the car to the meet and home again with difficult gear changes and help from my friends.
Big thanks to everyone that stuck their head in to try and help fix the problem, I'll update my thread when I've got the box apart to figure out what was wrong, but it looks like I've got a destroyed roll pin from what I could diagnose at the meet. I did get some pictures, but not many and I haven't had time to sort them.
There was, from what little I got chance to see, some absolutely cracking stuff there this meet and I'm sad I missed so much of it.

Yup, the meet will run through the winter, it's an all year round affair. I'm going to update the details now I've remembered and have a minute because I notice they're out of date.

Might be able to make the next meetup but we wouldn't be able to get there till around 8.30ish. What time do you guys normally stay till? Possibly a trio of us coming down from Huddersfield and Bradford. My mate in a Kermit green mk2 4 door escort rally car,my brother in my daily driver capri (if he's insured to drive it) and I'll be in the 131 sport.

Normally the meet winds up about 10-11pm, depends on the weather and stuff. All being well I'll be there and I'll try not to get in the way with a broken car this time.

Indeed, it was a cracking meet this time around, really crammed stuff into the Ford corner I noticed. I think my camera is a few days away from dead, the high quality of the rpsmith79's above pictures highlights it quite strongly, but I'll get some snaps up anyway. Late on a bright orange Fiat Mirafiori arrived but by that time my camera batteries were dead. I know some people did get pictures of it and I'd appreciate them being shared if possible. EDIT: it was this one, I found this picture online :END EDIT Next meet is on the 7th of October. I'll update the thread accordingly in a few minutes.

Sounds like the rumour mill is churning happily still. Here's some info.
Meadowhall - the meet was attracting loutish behaviour, littering, pot smokers, dangerous driving and yobbish behaviour. It was also attracting more and more modern cars and complaints were being received by owners of cars both new and old, and from people who wanted to take their families, that they didn't feel safe. Therefore the venue was moved to Meadow Farm.
Meadow Farm - the meet has been steadily growing in size month on month. We see a larger percentage of retro cars, exotica and performance vehicles now. We see more car pooling. We see less littering, only the occasional bit of acceptable revving, no dangerous driving and no drug use. We see more families and more pets.
That's how it is. Regardless of what you may or may not have heard. I encourage anyone to head over to Meadow Farm to check out the new venue for themselves rather than listening to the rumour mill. Clearly, some people prefer Meadowhall as a location and that's their choice, I shan't try and stop them, but officially this meet has moved to Meadow Farm and it is a far more grown up location attracting some really rather stunning machinery as I hope the pictures have shown.
