Woooo it's a wonderful milestone to reach isn't it! I think what you've done is gonna last for plenty more years yet, especially as you're likely to be taking much better care of it than the original owners would have done. After all when it was new it would have just been a modern daily drive, not a semi-obsessional hobby Looking forward to seeing this come together.

I too look forward to moving on. But there still is a lot of work. A lot of work. I'm sort of dreading the airco/wiper thing, but am set on adding it and using the components I have. I will also be thankful when the thing is back on it's wheels. But mid december is rapidly approaching and my wife is going for surgery tomorrow so the future is slightly less certain then it has been up to now as far as working on the car is concerned.

Thanks all!
My lovely lady is currently not so lovely... Her surgery went well, so that's a good thing. The aftercare was good, but a painfull mistake was made. Her wound was dressed with the wrong type off bandaid which has caused a huge burn type irritation. This in turn is causing my wife to go nuts with itching as she can't do much if anything for it. Creams, pills nothing works. I understand she's worse off then me having to actually undergo the surgery, pain, discomforts etc. Add to that that the kids were extremely sweet when my wife was in the hospital, but equally horrid from the moment she was let sent home. I get cranky from this as well which obviously doesn't really help the situation.
My days and nights have been rather hellish lately and progress is at a standstill. I'm hoping to make time tonight to go to the car and clean it up as prep for the floor treatment.
But family comes first, however bad they're behaving.

So another day is done. Thankfully it was a better day then the days before had been! The kids were nice, the wife was also nice and fortunately had a little less bother from her wound. So I felt ok, to leave home for a few hours. I did what I set out to do: simply hoover out/off the curse word from welding and the dust from all the sanding that goes on in that shop! The reason was mainly so when repriming parts and bodyschutzing, no dirt from the car would be blown on. Simple job, but man what a satisfaction. The car, although now solidly welded all round, was looking so sorry for itself compared with when it was pulled from the spray booth in fresh primer.... It took 1,5 hours to do everything but inside the engine bay. And strangely I felt soooo much better when I left. Even though I have no idea when I'll be able to get back to the car. I also primed/inoxed some welded patches that I wasn't able to before because of the mess inside the car. Next job is now firm on the list, seam sealing and bodyschutzing! At the very least: bottom floors, inside boot area and possibly passenger compartment. After that: mechanicals on! Some pics... Until next time!

Well, in between work, the attic remodel, caring for the kids and helping the wife after her surgery, I still managed to get a little (big) job done on the granada. I seam sealed all the seems on the bottom of the car from the rear tot the front nose outer wing area's.
If al goes as planned, tonight I'll bring the suspension setups to the shop.
Friday should then be an afternoon of bodyschutzing in preparation for mounting the rear suspension and later on the front as well.

Thanks for your support everyone!
I managed to take the front suspension to the shop. The 130x300cm trailer was too small to take both units in one go so I'll run the rear setup over on saturday morning. Car should be in bodyschutz by then!!
The rear unit only needs adding of 8 uj bolts and checking the tightening of them all before springs and shocks (shocks being painted black this week) can be added and the whole lot be put on the car! Sometime next week I presume!
The front unit unfortunately awaits replacement brake disk splash shields (that I'm having trouble aqcuiring) and modifying the new calipers before it will be fully finished. This does not endanger the placement on the car but is a drag on my motivation. I NEED those stupid shields. I NEED (mentally) to once and for all finish the mechanicals.
If I'm lucky, before the end of december the car will be on it's wheels, off the lift!
The plan then will be modifying the scuttle area for the aircon, trial fitting engine/box and ancilliaries. Getting it running. And off course prep and external paint. Still plenty to keep me busy, but on the other hand, it's moving forward!

Awesome Is it going for paint next? Or do you get to start bolting a few your shiny refurbed parts up? First up now is putting it back on it's wheels. So yes, putting on some shiny bits is next. Finishing the doors (window frames need welding up) and one patch to an outer wing is next after that. I then have a hard descision: moving the car to someone who can prep and paint it so it's ready May first. Ready meaning for me to build up. Or, keeping it where it is for prep and paint, allowing me to still work on the under hood side of things like the aircon mods, trial fitting the engine etc., with a deadline of March. But probably spending about a 1000 euro's more for the same work. So I have to have a discussion about cost where the car is now. I'd prefer it to stay there, but a thousand euro's is a lot of money... And it's a big bill as is!!
