Looking good, do you have an idea of when you want to have it out on the road? Also - don't suppose you know anyone around the Eindhoven area that could transport a car? I might be able to help you out with that, depending on weight of the car and schedule

The schedule is some time between mid-july and the end of august so long as the house purchase goes as planned.

All of about 12km at most. By the time I come to move it will be out of APK, have no exhausts, and quite a few bits missing so don't want to risk the roads

that does sound so good unsilenced ! for 200bhp preferably you'd need an exhaust tube size roughly 2.5 inch, at a push 2.25 (whats that, 55mm and 63mm ?) as for the lack of replies thing, just my observation but threads as thorough as this, or to put it bluntly threads which look like the person writing it and doing the work look way better job and in better detail than the people reading it can only dream of achieving, it doesn't really invite allot of conversation. know what you mean though, the narcissistic side of us needs that little comment or two for confidence

Hello Alex, It is really good to see her in the 'flesh' so to speak! The first firing sounded like 'Christine' returning back from a night out I particularly like the way she rocks and the way you looked scared when she popped Don't be frightened of her yet - wait until you unleash her on the highways!! Now that's funny... I've Always been honest about needing some encouragement through this thread at times. Hey, restoring an old beast like this is full of challenges, so a high and low somewhere along is to be expected. Replies usually help get through those faster...

Best wishes Thanks Paul, Well I just wish this car was more Christine like. Restorations on christine were always overnight! I've been plodding on for 5 years now, 2,5 years very actively... The engine ran and still runs on 3 out of 6 cylinders. That is also why it is sounding the way it sounds and moves the way it moves. And yes, I cannot get used to the backfiring every now and then and I also loathe the engine dancing on it's mounts. A Cosworth v6 is supposed to be smoooooooth. I can't yet find fault in the wiring and it's getting spark and seems like fuel as well. Yet exhaust on the 4-6 cylinder bank stays cold, touchable by hand even... so it seems that there is no fuel being burned. I'm stumped, but getting help is not easy and most importantly not timely. I need the car 100% ready beginning of June and I'm still having to makeexhaust, carpet, door and rear panels and put in the sound system. Then the car needs MOT and alignment from scratch. Seems undoable. And I have to admit, as far as I've come, I feel ages away from completion... And if the engine itself is nackered, Then this summer may well be out of the picture. So truth be told, I'm feeling down, low, beaten, stricken, bruised, angry and very frustrated. I've put in so mucht time, money and effort and the damned car seems to fight me all the way... Sorry would have liked to be more happy, but I'm not at the mo...

I'm surely hoping so, but an engine needs not much more then fuel, air and spark and I have checked for all but air, but that seems automatic to me... it sucks like a maniac, that I have verified... I'm trying to find someone who can read the ecu codes. At this point that might be more telling. But it's frustrating the hell out of me...

Hi Alex, Wow I wish there was something that I could do to help out. I'm sure there are a few of us that have had that "What the hell can it be" moment, but there will be a solution not too far away I'm sure! Sounds obvious but what have you changed on the engine once installed: HT Leads, re-routed fuel lines, missing an aux feed in the electrics; I've had an instance where I changed out some plugs on my Essex with brand new Champions and it ran like a pig, swapped back in the old NGK's and purred once again. Moral learnt -Just because it's new don't mean it ain't faulty Are both banks timed correctly - valve gaps OK. Is the placement of the swirl pot critical? Run a compression test, check your timings..Ermm I would I think starting again looking at the basics just to be sure would be worthwhile... Have a 'virtual' hug from me _and r_e_l_a_x Best wishes

And I would so much like to present my finished car this season june 12th. I keep going back over the basics. But will once more. I won't give up but it's taking valuable time. I assume you have checked the obvious things like firing order etc? Easy to get the order reversed on just one bank and lose the whole side.
Not sure how much use I would be, but I am always willing to come and have a look, a different pair of eyes so to speak. Sometimes when you have been searching for too long it's easy to overlook things that someone else might spot.

Sometimes when you have been searching for too long it's easy to overlook things that someone else might spot. Yes, the basics have been checked. Firing order, spark, plugs, power to injectors... And yes, I may not even see the problem if it stared me in the face simply as you say because I've looked so often I'm blinded somewhat. Only thing that may or may not be it is if the guy who labeled the wiring mislabeled the injectors. But i have to little knowledge of the way they work to know if that would even really matter. I'm trying to confirm by measuring the wires. I'll keep you in mind if this week doesn't bring progress. Thanks for the offer...

Thanks I'll google that! Access is bad though. I've not found a way to actually get the injector connectors off with the intake in place. It's all put away deep down. I'm sure you do know how I feel... Given what you've built! Í know it's me and not just the car, but it's really getting to me.

You can use 2 needlework pins and literally poke them into the injector wires, connect your led to that and it should flash regularly. It might actually be overfuelling if the injectors are grounding out as this will leave them wide open. What are the plugs like on the two cylinders that don't fire? Wet or dry?
