Nice selection there Dan. I know it's not fitted to a car (yet), but I suppose this thread gives me an excuse to whore this pic again:

id love some banded steels but they cost way to much for what they are I thought this until I recently revisited a wheel banding website. £50 a corner. A lot cheaper than they were a few years ago, probably because they are so popular. Means its only £100 to get my rears widend an inch This might still seem a lot for just welding a strip of metal in the gap, but when you remember that the wheels have to be cut super straight, then welded back together super straight and fully airtight under pressure and load, and you realise where the money is going

I'd love to get the standard steeliness on my GTI banded. They look better (IMO) and are loads cheaper than a set of scene taxed £750 alloy wheels with scrap tyres. Just saying

It took me a couple minutes of arguing with myself trying to recall if one of the cars above was one that I had owned or not. I feel like that self argument has moved me up a level in car ownership terms ;D I love a nice set of bandeds, me

Not technically banded but still deep and steel like. And i really like the sublty a reversed rim gives. I want mine done, but i wanna keep the inner too. I don't want a band put in because i only want to go an inch wider, i asked Weller Wheels if they'd press my VW centres into a 13x7 rim and they said they can't really do it without the correct press mandrel. So i think then just a wider inner rim welded on to replace the outer will suffice. Less than half the welding and then only circumferal, no material to add, air valve set back, should be notably cheaper - and get me the subtle look i'm after. Just to find someone to do it, then..

Wow! What is this? I believe it's a Toyota Carina coupe, fingerscrossed someone with superior JDM knowledge will confirm or deny this

I believe it's a Toyota Carina coupe, fingerscrossed someone with superior JDM knowledge will confirm or deny this I am in no way claiming superior knowledge in that area, but I believe you're right. Extraordinarily, I think one of these was following me whilst on the school run this morning, also white, fearsomely low with black arch extensions. Didn't get a look at the wheels unfortunately. Just wondered if it was someone on here.
