Just for something a little more outside the box; I was talking to a gentleman today at work with a charged jetski... Not sure if that would be suitable sizewise and/or pressure etc? If stupid, fell free to ignore.

Making sow but steady progress with the sanding Got the rear quarter 90% there now and the left front is making progress too, in these photos it's second pass of filler is just drying off and ready to be sanded down. Been out for a drive tonight and with the squeak now gone, thanks to oiling the handbrake cables, it's wonderful! Feels so much better to drive it without that annoying noise! Last annoying noise problem on the list is the gear stick rattle, a common Fulvia issue caused by worn bushes in the shift linkage. I'll change it at some stage.

Only one throttle body with the m45? Mx5 kids use two, one up and one down stream, to avoid bending the rotors.

AFAIK the only problem comes with running single throttle downstream of the charger. I'd be using a single throttle upstream of the charger, which is fine. If you have an intercooler or other large air volume between the charger and the valves then the throttle response slows and you get some surging, so you can use the dual throttle body to improve that response. I'll be running the charger straight into a small plenum type manifold with no intercooler so a single pre charger throttle should be fine. Lots of the mx5 kits, such as the Jackson racing kit and the Moss kit use a single throttle upstream of the charger

good work on the arches!
i used an M45 on an old 8v golf project with 7psi on the gauge and got about a 30% gain with intercooling but no other exhaust/intake mods.
The Lancia should suck up the extra air nicely as it's a more highly tuned thing to begin with.

Very nice Alex… shame it's so orange! I've never been sold on orange as a colour for Fulvias, but a surprising amount of 1.6HFs seem to have been sold in it and it seems popular as a choice for restorations. ...Still would happily swap that one for mine, haha Fingers crossed the Lancia will take to boost well. Running Megasquirt should mean I can make the most of the extra air and fuel getting into the engine Certainly better than if i stuck with carbs and the dizzy/points. Bodywork is slow and time consuming, so I took a break and went out for a drive. As the sun was shining I took a couple of pics of the car in all it's rippled, brush painted metal and beige primer glory…. Then this afternoon made a start on the front right wing. The right side of the car has less big ripples to deal with, should be more sort of spot fixes. So hopefully less work. I'm thinking I'll work my way round the whole car getting each panel rough shaped, then go back over it really make sure the lines are crisp and right. That way hopefully I shan't get too bogged down with each panel, feels like I'm making more progress! In other news my Megasquirt should arrive in a day or two. But I'll have it wait till the 16th to start playing as technically its a joint birthday present front my girlfriend and parents….

Cool pics! I quite like the patchy look just one little suggestion, wouldn't it look sweet if you had clear indicators? I think that in Italy they didn't have to be orange back then, so you should be able to find some. Keep going with the bodywork, it'll look amazing

Clement, clear indicators will be investigated I think it'll look much better with clear against the dark blue, but it's not near the top of my priorities list! As if to perfectly demonstrate this, I had an investigate of the swelling at the front of the bonnet at lunch today… … wish I hadn't now! Aside from the fact that it's all made of filler and fibreglass (nothing new there!) it's also clear that water is getting in to it from below. In the picture you can see the soaking wet filler as the darker colour. On my rx7 I drove around for a while with various states of primer/filler on show before I got round to painting, and in fact did there same with this Lancia last year, but in both cases it was early summer and generally any rain dried off quickly. But I've noticed how a the moment the car doesn't seem to get chance to dry out, and I was feeling uncomfy about using it with the exposed primer and filler. Don't want any rust starting before I even get round to doing the paint, or worse coming through after just a couple of months of it being painted nicely. So I'm considering keeping it in the garage for a few weeks while I finish the body work, I probably shouldn't have been impatient and MOTed it in October, but I wanted to drive it dammit! haha. If it does end up off the road for a few weeks then it does take the pressure off the Megasquirt build too and potentially is a good time to investigate polybushes throughout the suspension. Equally I'll need to work out what I can drive daily in the mean time…

currently reaping the "benefits" of driving my white astra round last year in various stages of primer and filler. rust bubbles coming through on what was clean brand new metal, complete waste of all my efforts

She's gonna stay covered up till this paint is sorted Decision made. Also did some more digging on the bonnet, good move previous owner who decided to construct the whole front 3 or 4" of the bonnet with filler and fibreglass… Don't think it's worth trying to repair, just too much work to do there. So I will start the hunt for a replacement.

I think you're remarkably unfazed by all the previous bad repairs on this, i'd be doing a Basil-Fawlty on it with the branch by now
+ who is it that covers up rusty old classics with excess filler on fibreglass/newspaper/expanding foam... Do they sleep soundly at night thinking "Ahhhh, what a great day's work!"

haha. I think I'm just jaded now After doing all the major bodywork bodge repairs the idea that I can just buy another bonnet and bolt it on, means that it's not so depressing! In more promising news, bit by bit I've been making steady progress with my own filler work. I've got the rough shape on both right hand corners of the windscreen done. And the front right wing is getting fairly close. I've been working hard to get that trim line in the body properly sharp. It's much better than the other side which I'll have to revisit before final priming.

Great effort put into this! I'd agree with everyone else, keep it in the warm, or your new paint will end up like this Granted I didn't paint my car, but it was done at some point before I got my hands on it, and to a very low standard in places.
