Just to update this saga - after failing to get the car to MITCAR 2015 I finally got round to taking the radiator out. from the back it didn't look too bad apart from the lower corner - However from the front it was a LOT worse - and when I put water in ......it came out very quickly!! So as this was the original 164 rad I cannot complain and will either get it repaired or replaced.

The renovated radiator looks a lot better - and doesn't leak........but needs a slight alteration to the mounting points before final fitting.

Woohoo! The 6C has passed its MoT! So the plan is to get it out and about next year. However on the way back from the garage the header plastic bottle seems to have cracked underneath as water comes out when under pressure.......

I have a lot of love for suds and sud sprints, but I find it had to believe that there are currently two on eBay for £12500 and £8000. I accept these are quite rare now and both have low mileage, but is that the kind of value these make now??

Hi As always with scarce cars the value is totally dependent on demand - if two or more people want a Sprint then the price goes up and really good cars are very scarce and rarely up for sale. (Look at the price of RS Fords with equivalent spec and far more available.....) There are less than 200 Sprints and 250 Suds in the UK and over half are on SORN. I sold my MoTd 8V Sprint two years ago for £1200 - only one bidder , and, last year, my 16V project Sprint, un-finished, for £800 .

How do you even start with a project like this?! Great stuff Hi b3nson I blame E Bay! I had bought a 1.7 Sprint unfinished project, on a whim from the 'Bay (having had a 1200 Sud back in the 70's and lusted after the hotter twin carb Ti version) then on E Bay I saw a brochure of the 6C Sprint (that went to £85!!)but I had no idea about the 6C (or the Giacatollo in Australia) so having seen pictures, I thought I can do that........

I thought the expansion bottle had a leak so I sourced a replacement and finally got round to swopping them yesterday. The old one came off easily but I couldn't see a crack or split anywhere? When it was filled with water there was no leak?? However when I pressure tested it (blowing hard with all outlets blocked!) there was a leak - somewhere........ Finally I found it at the bottom of one of the strengthening? internal columns - dohhh.

Here is a picture of the bottom of the tank showing the two strengthening internal columns - the left hand one has a crack right in the middle of the tank where the two halves are joined!

JoshO There are a couple of clips on You Tube of the 6C running - search "Sprint 6C" - (sorry I'm not sure how to put links in here)
Georgeb Well it is sunny this morning so only 24 hours to go! And the Sprint is fun to drive in a "hyper" go kart way!

Well the sunshine was bright, the 6C behaved, the breakfast was good, the venue was packed, the Lamborghinis and Ferraris were loud! Thanks Ciro and Sharnbrook Hotel.
