Lucky doesn't use C41 process? I've been C41'ing it for ages, with nice results. Accidental cross-processing, then!
Those composite images are absolutely stunning. I have done one of my own using a digital camera - I'll try to find it.

The latter I can get on a 45 minute turnaround, the former I can get done in Rodinol but it still takes a few days from my bloke in Crewe.

Yes I see. I bought Lucky because I got a whole batch on the cheap (cheaper than normal, which is already cheap). It's fine for my level of photography. Aforementioned composite image: I will have to do some with film when I get the time.

I went out again yesterday with the T70 and managed to do another roll of film just practicing landscape shots of Cologne. I pick up the disc tomorrow so hopefully I will have some more photos to display. I really love using the T70 and I seem to put more effort into taking the photographs with it than I do with my Olympus digital, maybe it is because you can't check, delete and try again.

Hi there fellow film folk. I am after a little bit of advice really. I am wanting to take some shots at night without the flash as I love these kind of shots. My question is what kind of shutter speed would I be needing to use for such a photo? With the T70 there is a function where you can just hold the shutter open for as long as you want. This is the kind of shot I want to achieve (taken with my Olympus digital) PB050031 by Bowling Racecar Driver, on Flickr Thanks for your help.

depends on the lighting situation of where you are. if you have an iphone there is a pretty good light meter app which i use - something like that would help.
but to be honest i would try just leaving it open for 30sec+ and see what happens. it would be hard to overexpose so just try a few and keep not for next time. colour neg film is pretty good for exposure, its rather forgiving

Cheers for the help dude, I don't have a smartphone I have an old 7 quid Nokia! But I will try 30sec and work from there. Excuse my ignorance but what is colour neg film? I am totally new to this!

colour negative film is just regular colour film. you get slide (positive) film which is slightly different and more fussy to exposure.

Not sure if anyones interested in this but I fancied a bit of proper vintage photography, a quick eBay later netted me this 40's Ensign Ful-Vue. Lovely little thing, waist level view finder, single 1/30 shutter speed, as basic as they come. The problem is its medium format film which is a 6x6 negative, now this film is still available but its not cheap, processing again aint cheap and you get 8-12 shots per film. As it was cheap and would be an orniment anyways, I converted it to 35mm First up I cut a black plastic mask, started with a 6x6 square the cut a 24x36mm rectangle in the middle - I then cut this wider to expose the sprocket holes incase I wanted to scan them. Now you don't need a mask, but without it you'd be exposing the width of the film by 6cm, which would make nice tall portrait shots. You can see its just glued in and I added some foam inside to keep it light tight. Next up, the film. Most cut up and old 6x6 spool and butcher it to wedge inside the 35mm spool, I decided to solid mount one side, the use a sturdy spring on the other. This works great and will aid rewinding the film as it has to be done in a dark bag. And there we go, next step is to measure a frame and mark the frame winder knob so in don't waste film or double expose. I have no idea how well it will work, I see no issue why it wont, but its been fun

I had to give up my dark room last year so do less film photography than I used to but still develop my own B&W then scan the negs. As Cologne is featuring heavily, here is one of mine taken on a Leica M2 (the camera was made two months before I was born!) shot on Agfa APX film. the ensign full-view <however they chose to spell it lol> is a good little box camera, The only problem <and it may not even turn out to be a problem..> is that loading it with a much more sensitive film compared to what was available when the camera was new will result in large over exposures. 400iso was, if at all, seldom available back then, 100iso-200iso was the norm.
So I'd expect in good lighting, from 1/30 shutter speed, an over exposed photo, however there is one saving grace that may aid you and that is that that these fixed focus box cameras usually had a fixed aperture of around f11, which is relatively small... so that will control the amount of light coming in... you may just get away with it.
Film is SO much fun and still used in huge quantities, by amateurs, pros, and commercially!
I would recommend that whatever you wish to take a photo of is kept in the centre of the frame, since you've loads a much slimmer film than intended, the sides will not get exposed.
120 film is well worth the money imo, lovely big negs,... and you can get c41 process compatible these days which is well within the scope of even the worst branch of photo developers.

I just went to the local Boots store (read that as dragged by the missus, i'm not one for moisturiser) and scored 25 rolls of fujifilm c200 for £2 as the date was march 2013, happy times.
Whats the crack with the slide stuff? Different processing, positive or negative types, i'm confused, can you have it proccessed and printed like normal?
I'll happily give some up if you can use it, obv its all expired

Large asda stores process to negatives for £2 a roll, then its a quid to have them shoved on a cd, they're scanned at an awful resolution, but it lets you see which ones to scan properly later on.
don't expect any thoughtful processing though, its all the machine so its never going to be the best, still, its how the ones above were done (these are straight off the cd)

I was recently loaned my old mans Canon A1 set-up to play with when he learnt that my compact digital thing had died. Learnt a lot just from reading the manual! Problem is the length of time it takes to see the results and forgetting in the mean time all that I had done and try'd. Particularly as the only shop nearby that processed film was a Jessops ten miles away. D'oh!
