I've got to admit I wasn't sure where you were going with this at the start but it's shaping up really well, those Golf arches were a good choice, keep at it!

Is it me or have you welded in the rear arches higher than the front ones?

Visually it'll look weird, no car has rear arches higher than the front, and you'll want the front arches level or at least higher to allow for steering at lower rides heights.
Look at the German Derby for reference.

Well do a quick Google search and I can find loads of cars the same shape as mine were the rear arches are higher than the front! And to be honest the rears look higher than they are once welded and painted they are about the same level as the front!

About time for an Update. Got my self a new unit this one has space to store and work on cars inside so i can get on with my build without having to wait for the workshop to be free and having to always keep the car so it can be moved. So Now the derby is in his permanent space i can strip all the suspension and stuff from the front end. First job was the engine bay removing the factory stone chip in the engine bay and preping it for some paint! Stone chip removed! Anti rust primed! And a lick of colour! Painted and fitted a polo mk2f GT/G40 steering rack and steering damper! Installed the suspension and stuff so i could test fit the mock 15 x 8 et0 wheels to check clearance with the new arches! Looking good! next will fit a polo Mk2F GT engine tomorrow and then sort the loom and get it running! so i can start on preping the body work for paint!

Glad to see this back at the top of my bookmarks, still love the look, and the stance with those front wheels is spot on. Just needs to be rear wheel drive now
