...you know the type!           ![]() ![]()   there's a selection of the ones i could find, basically, if my Volvo doesn't sell, i need to make some use out of it...this seems like a good idea, i have the half a car (2 halfs to be precise), and an A frame, i just need inspiration, it'd be a shame, because it's such a clean shell, but it would be undeniably cool as a trailer, or even a BBQ...hmm! so come on, tempt me, show me some awesome ones! |

To be the boring person if you're considering building a trailer- any new builds now require type approval, whether through being a type approved model by a larger volume manufacturer, or going through a trailer IVA at a cost of about £70 for low volume manufacturers and one off/amatuer builds. No, they can't prove that it wasn't made before whatever the cutoff in 2012 was, but I expect the onus would be on you to prove otherwise. I'm a big fan of trailers made of cars when they're done well  |

My mate ross has a Mk3 Polo one - painted the same colour as the car, same alloys and the rear windows with limo tint on them - normally used to go to the Polo Show every year to take the camping gear.

Isn't there also a big issue with nose weight? Too much trailer in front of the axle and it puts too much load on the tow point and makes the front end of the car light? Some of these, especially the Porsche and Passat look very long to me?

I was going to create a Sierra hatch trailer a year of so ago, lack of space forced me not to finish the project, there is a chap near me who has a v70 car and trailer.
