The car doesnt hold water at the minute, it comes out as fast as you.put it in. If I'm honest, that's why you've not sold it. You earlier said it's not too bad and will only take 2 hours to fix, yet 2 months later you've done nothing about it and stand to lose the value of the car over this. It isnt bad, its a cracked pipe at the back of the block. Itll take 2 hours to sort, but if I'm honest i cant br bothered to sort it. If the car sells then happy days, if not ill scrap it. It owes me nothing as it was givennto me. Even scrapped ill make 200.

I could well have been interested, as a change of circumstances means I'm looking at a 130 mile daily commute for work starting in a couple of weeks. Problem for me is that I am trusting that it is a simple 2 hour job and not something more troublesome. I have no reason not to believe the seller, but I'm naturally pessimist where cars are concerned.
If I was selling this one, I'd fix the leak, stick a new MOT on it, and I'm sure it'd make double what your asking for it.
Good luck with the sale, and I really hope it doesn't get canned. I bet there's not many of this spec left!!

There are less the 100 left in this spec.
I want 250 for it.
As stated, its only the water pipe that needs sorting to get it back on the road.
It will be scrapped by the 1st of next month if it doesnt sell
thanks

you're going to squash a car that is "1 of 100" left because you can't be f*cked to fix a water pipe, that's a "2hr job" which could net you an extra ÂŁ100??
This kind of attitude puts people off... and it stinks. If it's such a good car and such an easy job, fix it. If it's so rare, pass it on to someone else, considering it "owes you nothing".
Where's your community spirit?? Scrapping a car you were given because no one will buy it from you and you're too lazy to fix it. That sucks!!

^^ clearly you should buy it Ha, I offered to swap it for my Volvo (got turned down) which I then sold for 500. Had already bought my xud engined saloon by then. I just think it's a crying shame he's going to scrap it because he'll make an EXTRA 100 profit over giving it to someone else... lazy.

It owes me nothing as it was givennto me. Even scrapped ill make 200. Nothing personal directed towards you now, but when sellers say 'easy cheap fix, 2 hrs labour' or other such statements (the best phrase being 'will sail through it's MOT'), then I and most others will just think why doesn't the seller do it, it will cost very little yet will give the buyer some confidence. As it is, many will not even read to the end of an advert like that, as it smacks of the seller passing off a big problem as if it were nothing - if it's nothing then fix it and ask a fair price, or else it's just a project for someone. Buyers will be sat here reading this thinking 'if you can't be bothered to fix something small, what else have you neglected?'

Yeah well they're only risking a couple of hundred quid and theres plenty of big colour pics of what they're buying so its up to them to decide innit. Give the lad a break, he's told everyone what it does and how much he wants for it, the whole deal seems straightforward enough for me.

Look, I don't get what everyones problem is. There are pictures of the car. I have been 100% honest with you all. I have been 100% honest on why I havent fixed the car. Why should I sort a car for someone else? If it owed me anything then id would sort it, but as stated: it owes me very little.
Given the fact its got this problem, it makes a very cheap, quick fix project for someone. Yes its rare, but this will NOT stop me crushing it, I'm fed up looking at it every time I go out and its taking up space.
If anyone has a problem with this, the asking price is ÂŁ250 and my contact number is ****** stop moaning at me, and do something about it!
SO GET OFF MY BACK!!

Ok, since you asked, my problem is this: RR is a forum for appreciating and cherishing old and unusual cars of different flavours. You seem determined to crush this rare and old car to get maximum profit when you could sell it for a bit less to keep it on the road. I tried to swap, but I bought something more local which drives. If I had funds I'd be on the phone...
Good luck selling, I hope you find someone to keep it alive

I'm not interested in profit, I'm interested in getting rid of it. I'm not giving it away, i can get a fair amount weighing it in. I'm fully aware of what "RR stands for" hence advertising this "rare and unusual" car in here for such a long time. Problem with this place is its full of loud mouth, opinionated time wasters, who want the world for pennies! Ill put it this way, the car either sells by the 1st, or its bean tins. Either way, its a problem solved, id rather someone buy it because it is too good to scrap, but I'm not prepared to keep hold of it just to keep you lot happy.
Read that anyway you want.. you have all had 3 months to make an offer, and come look at the car. But all i have had is people telling me this, that, and the other and that it would "be a crime to scrap"
I replied to your iffer of a swap, explaining it would cost me far too much to run you Volvo.

Scott, I'm not one of those 'loud mouthed timewasters' you mentioned in a previous quote. I'm on the lookout for a cheap heavy oil runaround as my daily commute is set to increase very soon. But for me looking in, it has a serious issue holding water which you say is an easy fix but seem unwilling for whatever reason to sort it. My natural auto-pessimism kicks in.
It's your car, do what you want with it, but it isn't surprising to see people post their confusion about why you seem unwilling to spend two hours fixing it, thus saving a pretty rare car from the possibilities of the crusher and in the process doubling the cash you could make.
GLWS.
