passenger front wing is now on. needed a bit of fettling to get the bracket to line up with the captive nut as i'd added extra grp when attaching the bracket to the wing Now attention is turned to getting the bonnet slam panel sorted to allow the bonnet catch to work, but first need to tweek the bonnet alignment as the passenger side boonet hinge needs raising slightly - about 5mm I also clipped the front bumper into place. needs to add some more glass and also make the bolt mounting points bigger. the plan is to bolt the bumper via 4 m10 bolts then make a steel frame that will be bonded to the centre back of the bumper which attaches to steel frame that the old bumper was attached to I've also been collecting a few items, mainly old analogue blaupunkt radios and a momo steering wheel 9not sure which wheel i'll be using yet - have a choice of 3 styles) Matt

yeah i could glass it - i added extra glass on the other side having learnt how much packing the doors needed. although its fibreglass the doors are fecking heavy with the glass and power window motor. i didn't fancy taking the door off again once it was in place. I "think" thats the pasenger side door , so will hardly be opened.
at the time i probably concluded that the door would be off at some point again, so left it for a future job....

I learn a little more for mine each time you post on this. When it warms up a little, I will do more on mine too.
Keep up the good work. Nelson

I love this build.
Surprised you're going with power windows over keep-fit. I'm not sure why tbh?
Like the hint of how it'll look once done. Have you thought about colour yet?

Have you thought about colour yet? power windows are already fitted....and work.....so gonna leave it as is..... colour is expected to white, as i want a big contrast with the orange indicators, yellow headlamps, yellow fogs and red tail lights.

Nice Momo - is it a Prototipo? (oh, and loving the build btw, great attention to detail Cheers Matt its virtually the same as a prototipo, but less than 1/3 the cost brand new. Not stamped MOMO as i assumed, but have investigated the part number and it checks out. the horn push is MOMO etc. it was more the tan colour that i liked, as it'll match the biscuit carpet

Been lurking on this place for a while (as you can see from my "kinda new" avatar sig thingie) & enjoying the builds but this one in particular is cracking. Well done OP, this is going to be a really nice retro ride. I run an early narrow bodied swb 912 & I think your decision to go narrow body was the right one. Any idea what the length of the wheelbase will be? Keep up the good work man.

Any idea what the length of the wheelbase will be? should be 87.2in (2,215 mm), which is about 1 inch longer than a swb 911/2 as the donor beetle is a '67 on an E plate, everything tallies (well almost)

Fitting the passenger side horn grill and light unit last night, required some minor fettling as always: bonnet catch is in place and working grreat but is currently located using packing pieces, so it'll all be removed for modification Over at Ghetto Glass Industries (copyright), i've had to make up some more flat sheet and continue beefing up the front bumper. As its a weird shape, it has to be done in small sections so the resin doesn't run off

Is that an oven door? Ingenuity is the mother of invention!
I do like the way this is shaping up, from the 930 turbo body look which did ok, the the narrow body which will look so much better.
