Alright chaps, brought this cheap to turn into a hillclimb car, plans are simple, keep it original looking but on twin webers the interior has been changed for a 1.9 one at some point so I'm going to fit a pair of bucket seats and a cage. as i got it now thanks

Note the lack of repeaters on the wing and probably has the early 105bhp engine.

wasn't the 1.6 quicker than the 1.9 ? or was I misinformed?

wasn't the 1.6 quicker than the 1.9 ? or was I misinformed? wildly misinformed! 105 or 115 vs 128 bhp, do the math granted a 1.6 will feel pretty quick due to a shorter final drive and the shorter stroke crank making it feel a right buzzbox, but a 1.9 has a longer stroke and mush more usable torque.

I stand corrected sir!!!

well she went in for mot yesterday, and with no real great suprise she failed, not too bad though, needs a pair of calipers and a rear wheel bearing, whilst the back end was in bits, I popped two wheel cylinders on too. other than that I had to fit the battery clamp I forgot to put back on when I changed the battery over

That looks great, did you buy the PTS stripes from somewhere or are they custom made?

When was the 205 GTi launched... If that is an ultra early one I'd not alter it too much as it may be worth a few squids as a standard model...
If you fancy modding one maybe get one that is a bit later and a tad less rare!!!
This is a great looking car, I believe the 205 is one of the nicest looking supermini's of the 1980's...

I'm planning on just running it in a road class when funds allow of course, I'm just going to do a few track days to begin with, get the feel of it, the only hillclimb experience i have is the gathering if I'm honest, so a few different places wouldnt be a bad idea before i jump into it, plus id like to get a feel for the car, the PTS stripes are from this bloke : www.goodhand.co.uk/pts-decals/And yeah shes a fairly early one, ive seen a few A reg's and some other B reg's hence the reason I'm not cutting her about, its not a prime example, but with what I'm doing to it i don't think I'm going to mess it up imo just going to have some cheap fun!

picked up some 1.9 wheels from pug fest, one has a tyre but I'm just going to give the 1.6 wheels a lick of silver untill i can afford to get some tyres, its going to skint me out putting the damn thing on the road! couldnt resist a test fit, although the colour has got to go aside from that i found a pic from an old pug fest back in 2007 with the old owner

Cool little car mate Gotta say I like the 1.6 wheels more than the 1.9 wheels I think. And those stripes rock, worth way more hp than the fog lights
