Thankyou for the nice feedback, I love the lines of the car. Most cars have something about the shape I don't like but this is just how I would have drawn it if I was Audis designer. I have been looking at the lovely red one for a long time and wanted to do my own.

I missed out some pics, I just found some more on the card. (sorry to bore) I just hope the next stage pans out OK. I will refrain from posting the pics/plan for now to avoid looking a bell if it doesn't happen. (no its not S2 running gear)

That looks stunning. Such a classy car but now such a meaty car with those rims!

I went to the BP to fill up. A man asked if I would sell the car, he made an offer . I explained I would need the steering wheel back and the stereo for his low offer. He accepted. lets have another looky on Ebay then see what we can find for £1500

That did look lovely I must say. What a way in which to pull it off. They do seem to be alot of car for the money!
As for it being a shame to sell it, variety is the spice of life. Too many cars one would wish to own is the issue!

I was looking for another but I bought this one again.
Was the Audi blue? I saw a cab today, with 5 stud and low in Flitwick. I was going to ask the driver about it but I was filling a "I forgot my wallet" form in the petrol station..
I love this car, that's why I got it back.

This appeared on my fb an hour ago, Instantly thought of your cabrio, will you be giving your black plastics a similar treatment?, imo it makes it look lower even if it is just a trick of the eye.

I much prefer the black plastics - it's not trying to make an old car look semi-new unsuccessfully!
Glad you have it back.

I have bad news. I don't want to do this but I must. My 80 TDI needs to come back to life, or I will never have money ever again! (I much prefer the shape, colour of this, but need the TDI) It needs some wheels, suspension, brakes and more...and the easiest/cheapest solution is to donate the best bits of this. I want the bonnet and bumper too. So I guess this is a breaker as it will have no wheels, the old shagged front coilovers, a blue bonnet and tdi bumper

I have not been able to sleep. I really like this car and cannot desert it. I think the best idea (not saying it will happen) is to loan the parts to the TDI to get me out of the sh11t. and stick this in my gararge for a few months while it gets a PD conversion. (I'm doing research now)
*I bet some are saying, why not put the 80 tdi running gear in this.. well because it sounds like a tractor, its gutless. PD is fairly quiet and quick.
The Audi 80 Avants have basic interiors, most have wind up windows and its hard to get leather interior for a 4 door, the cabrios are very well equipped.

Glad to hear your not going to break it, it does look really nice. Surely a LPG conversion on it would be a cheaper way to run it long term whilst keeping the lovely V6 noise

Saw a deep metallic brown one of these last Sunday, as we were heading up to Gaydon. Just looked so nice and I just haven't seen many around. I remember when they first came out!
Man I feel old.
