wernt the engines out of these cars capable of very high rpm with drcent power...think a friend built one for grass track back in the old days? 8k is about the limit for good reliability. 130bhp or maybe a bit more which isn't bad for an 8v 1300cc that can weigh as little as 700kg if you go to town on it. I rallied one for years (sold it earlier this year) - mine was a quite mild 1360 with 116bhp & 750kg but with the PTS close ratio gearbox went very well. I've got a lot of experience with them so if you get stuck, feel free to ask. Suspension-wise, Nigel at Avo made me a set of tarmac dampers, adjustable damping & spring platforms, with swapable inserts for the top mounting bolt to give camber adjustment for quite reasonable money. I ran 150lb/in springs & 23mm ARB at the front with 130lb/in main 100lb tender springs at the rear with 20mm ARB. Best handling car I've ever driven.

Cracking machine. Had a good nosey around it at the Lisburn Drive it Day show a few years ago. Looks even better in the flesh.

Good man. Remember this for sale not that long ago. You've a visa now. Where'd the samba go to?

Samba went to a guy in Nottingham. Was supposedly going to rally it with his son. Not seen it out though.
