Hi Paul, Yes but I still need to convert to press-in There are lots of press-in studs available I haven't removed the drum so I have no clue what the hub is like Don't press-in hubs have splines to match those on the studs? Press in studs create their own splines in the hub / drum. You therefore just need a hole. Unless you have already confirmed your existing studs are screw in then I wouldn't be surprised if they are already press in. No problem scouring scrap yards for suitable studs as long as you check them to ensure good condition. They don't have to be the same thread as the existing ones - just ensure you collect enough wheel nuts at the same time ! Paul h

Yes, the existing ones are screw-in, a few of them have screwed-out whilst removing the wheels!

Most I've seen, simply need a hole with a taper - they make their own splines as they're tightened EDIT: D'oh! Missed the fact there was a second page

Actually, you can use the correct size parallel drill bit I replaced the studs on my race car with proper high tensile ARP ones, the knurl required a 13.9mm hole for a 14mm outside (I think the inside was about 13.7mm, de-bur the edges then you then press them in

I would imagine the holes drilled for studs would have to be absotuely square to the hub?

Yes, you need to do it right, I pulled the hub and used a drill press
