October 26th 2014 is the next car show at the Rhope Steam Engines Museum

The website for 2014 dates had not been updated so I sent an email to find out why and what news

Listed below are the dates for this year.

Steaming Dates 2014
Easter April 18th - 21st, (With classic cars on the 20th only)
Spring bank Holiday May 24th - 26th,
August Bank Holiday August 23rd - 25th
Heritage Open Days September 13th & 14th
Blackberry Week Steaming and Classic Car Rally October 25th & 26th. Cars Only on Sunday 26th
The Museum is open between 11.00 - 16.00 each day when in steam
The museum is open as a static exhibit every Sunday afternoon 14.00 - 17.00 between Easter until the end of December.
Admission to all events is FREE thanks to the support of Northumbrian Water, providing access to an important part of this region’s industrial heritage.

So I hope poeople can make it this year!

I spoke to a fellow who had engines running next to it, he said the owner
had changed the head of a standard mini engine with that from a bmw bike.
Please don't ask me anymore as I don't know anything else.
Might be an idea to check the mini forums and for those based in the north
as it is from up here.

Sorry for delay in posting these but I started going cross eyed after a while sorting the code out!
I managed to get to Ryhope steam meuseum with a fellow petrol head who had never been to this event
before. I will say this the parking for those not showing was hell!

You are probably thinking of the other one.

The Clubman estate with the same type of engine has been on the road for quite a few years and you might have seen it at lots of shows in the North East, it belongs to my Cousin who built the car and engine.

The car pictured above belongs to a friend and the engine was also built by my cousin, it hasn't been on the road for as long.

I know of a magazine that was interested in featuring the bike headed Mini on the strength of some pictures I got at a show in Hartlepool but I couldn't track down the owner. Do they live up here?

I know that the one with the oil cooler on it is super charged and I think I may have seen it at another show.
There is a meet in Hartlepool on the 27th of april at Hartlepool Marina NOT organised by the Bygones Society,
and on the same day a show at Shildon Locomotion which is organised by the bygones society.
I will try to attend Hartlepool but not Shildon as Mother's car is in for a gearbox fault and mine has electrical
issues!

Yes, Minis with this engine live in Wingate and Peterlee.

I shall point my Cousin towards this thread.

Hi everyone am William the owner of the said blue bike headed clubman estate and builder of the engine in the mini mayfair (street sleeper) very interested in any comments and up for any questions. Hopefully weather permitting all be at hartlepool on sunday in the estate and probably the mayfair will make an appearance to.

Reminder it's just over a week away

Reminder this is on Tomorrow. I should be there in my X 1/9. Took the Chevanne the last few times now.

Yes I will be attending but not in my neon!! Anybody got any gremlin traps they are loose in my neon's engine bay!
Black t-shirt with "sewell's car parts" in white writing, blue jean, a walking stick(yes i need proping up no callipers on tomorrow),brown hair in a ponytail, and yes I am a man so if you do see me please say hello.

I got to Ryhope about noon and was able to park at the top show area next to a black morris
minor, unfortunately I was using mothers 02 astra and the amount of people there was far
greater than I had previously seen.































































































































































No more photos, sorry but the battery on the phone went dead!

And there was a Blue fiat that nearly ran me over as it exited the show, I can't exactly move well
to begin with, and I had pushed myself getting round the show as there was a higher than usual
turnout of vehicles showing, so I had over done it! Might have been better with a mobility scooter
than a walking stick and a black document bag over my shoulder carrying all the usual necessary
stuff!

Next weekend Whitby Kustom on the 1st of Nov.
