Yay for internet rumours. I'm glad people feel so strongly about The Gathering that they are talking about it before we've made any official announcements. I really hope it's an oversight by someone and it IS at Prescott. If it isn't then I have a good idea where it could be and I for one will not be going. I'd love to know where you think it is going to be seeing as up until last Friday I didn't know where it was going to be. But yes, it is on the move for many and varied reasons, we'll do a full announcement and reasonings in due course.. Probably this side of Christmas. Maybe in the New Year at awards night (assuming I can get that arranged too). So still time for rescuedude to tell us where he thinks it'll be and why he won't be coming We've not fallen out with Prescott btw, we plan to be back for a smaller event in 2015, as well as running The Gathering at its new venue.

it may be a change of date rather than it not being there, i was talking with the guy who organises the VHRA GOW! event there and there isnt going to be one of those this year as the bugatti club who own the site are only allowed a limited number of race days on the hill, and they want a set amount for themselves, and there isnt enough to go round everyone else......

I liked Haines. I liked Prescott. I'm pretty sure I'll like the next venue. Why? The people, the cars oh and it's my birthday weekend too All I'd ask is that its easy to get to and not stupidly expensive!

Yay for internet rumours. It wasn't a rumour to me about it not being at Prescott it was a known fact. That's why I asked the question.

That I certainly don't know but I'm hoping that it's not to a venue near me in Worcestershire.

Oh noes! I loved Prescott! Tbh though, RRG will still be awesome regardless of where it's held, but I do hope it's somewhere just as special, or even more so! I'd hope there would still be a RWYB hillclimb event too, or something similar.
I for one am eagerly awaiting the update...

Although Prescott was a good venue, it will be a great weekend no matter where it's.held. Hopefully the date change will allow me to attend too (as I'm away when it was originally going to be!, and if it's closer to where I am them that's all the better too as I'll be lucky to see 10mpg out of the Blazer I await further news with great anticipation!

Its such a shame that the official gathering wont be held at prescott this year! However wherever its held I'm sure it will be a smashing event! But i agree it was rather rammed this year in the show field in particular! Hopefully and i fully support any changes and I'm sure it will be even better!

Goodwood would be nice. No trace of bias in that it's ten miles away rather than 150 like Prescott...
Dunno if I'd say the field was too crammed this year? I like the way everything nearby and not spread out. Sounds like this has more to do with politics and restrictions from the Prescott ownership rather than outgrowing the venue though? Be nice to know the situation one way or t'other. Them of us on restricted-leave shiftwork can't get leave applications in too early...

I've got my fingers crossed for more of a track than a hillclimb, not that I dislike driving up hills, but hooning round a track appeals to me more...

To copy an earlier post - nicely said smellyferret BTW I'd done a few Retro Car Shows at Santa Pod in the early days of RR - great fun but sort of hollow not sure what was missing but it wasn't "home" if you get what I mean. I'm gonna get a slap from Keefy or David for this BTW Anyway the Retro car shows strangely had a large RR presence in a very short space of time but it still didn't have what I didn't know I was looking for and couldn't put a finger on The "circuit that can never be named" (CTCNBN) was my first RR gathering - they say you never forget your first and it's true. I liked Gaydon (but not as much as a TCTCNBN went to but I was already forgetting what it was called). I loved Haynes (but not as much as some place we went to in Leicestershire). I really loved Prescott it had all the elements of a place I forget we went to once but was soo much better than the first place that I've forgotten where it was). Proving that the statement you never forget your first is rubbish I'm damn sure I'll love the next venue (sure I will miss Prescott and I might be a little sad if we aren't there as they were a great bunch of people to deal with - proper car enthusiasts all of them) but knowing the RRG team hopefully where ever we are it will have something I can contribute to in a small way Why? The people, the cars, the atmosphere, the social aspect, the mix without needless walls or barriers (built around marques, models or modification styles) between "car enthusiasts"
