Very Nice. The old Ladas always seemed to go surprisingly well, I can remember a few used in forest rallying many years ago that raised a few eyebrows, often with a Fiat twincam engine and gearbox under the skin.
Considering how many of these were around about 25 years ago, they are now a very rare sight..... I believe many of the best ones were re-imported back to Russia where there was a big demand for them?

When I was at sea back in the 90's, we used to see the Russian ships docked in Aberdeen with Ladas covering every inch of their decks.

Neat replica. What carbs are you running under the airbox?

Its a Fiat 131 2.0 sport engine, modified to Stage 3 spec. Carbs are weber 44 IDF's.

Very impressive, to get 200bhp out of a carb-fed 2-litre Fiat twin-cam, running a distributor - goes to show that old-school technology can still produce the goods if properly set up!

An old build, but useful information on modifying a Lada here: beardmorebros.co.uk/website%20pages/lada.htmI was reading somewhere that the Riva has been in production for 41 years and 20 million have been produced. Must rival the VW beetle by now

Our Samara was bought by Russians and sent back, In the late 90's it seemed to happen a lot.
I don't think there was a big demand for rhd Ladas in Russia  But very impressive project.
Every single Lada traded into two main Lada dealers in west / central Scotland (Archers Lada) during the mid-late 80s were bought up by Russian dealers. The stories of ships laden with them in Aberdeen are true!
