Don’t know how I missed this. Big Volvo estate fan here, have had a 122S, 145S, 240 Torslander, a 960, and now daily a 2003 XC70. Top work on this, particularly the R style instrument faces. Bookmarked.
New front wishbones with poly bushes Gaz adjustable shocks all round New diff oil Missing washers from the shifter cage to tighten up the shift Jag XJ6 engine mount as the poly one had sagged (again!!) so the ratchet strap has gone!
The range on the Gaz shocks is quite something, the back was really soft to the point I think it was topping out over bumps. I added 7 clicks this morning and now it's nice and firm.
The big news is the car is up for sale, advert to be created once I have cleaned and taken pics this week.
So this is what the car looks like in my ownership. I was on the lookout for a pre-1980 245 for a long time, so I had very set plans in my head of what I wanted to do.
I bought P1800S wheels from Scandix and had them banded 3 inches and powdercoated. They then fit the original chrome hubcaps. I fitted new IPD springs all round and changed the shocks for Longer Gaz shocks again, all round. This helps deal with the terrible roads locally here. I fitted a non-rusty tailgate, a new distributor cap, rotor arm, engine mounts, battery and clamp, passenger track arm, brake pipe mounts and slave cylinder. It's fully serviced to a high standard. I fitted a better M47 gearbox and have the other spare.
I've probably done a lot of othjer jobs I've enjoyed tinkering away at, and forgotten.
Sadly, while this is an introduction of sorts, I'm putting it up for sale I'm afraid. I have a too many projects, and they're kind of getting on top of me at the moment. This will have to go. A long with a huge amount of spares free with the sale.
