Right then. This Vander Plas Double Six I think I've caught before at some point. Then I went down the coast for the weekend. Was hunting for breakfast, dragged the gf down an alleyway because I'd spotted this Regal. There's a nice orange 2 door for sale at the moment. While hunting for a bottle shop to buy a particular bottle of rum. This was two doors down from where we were staying. The hardtop was up in the air with no rear axle. Sunday we went to a Biker coffee 'bar' because the google results for breakfast had showed this place and there was pictures of old cars in the reviews. As it was only around the corner we figured we'd check it out. On our way there. Heh. Didn't even notice the truck in the background. At the bar. The visor says 'Under Construction', but I think they've finished. Couple of bikes. Old Police bike. Saw this pull up while we were having breakfast..burgers. Was still there when we left so obviously took a snap. This looks like it could have been a bit of fun. Mitsubishi RVR? Then I took some photos of Seedy in the back of an industrial area nearby, which are in her thread. I wanted to park outside an antique shop we were checking out so I could get a photo of Seedy in front of the sign. But I wasn't sure if the area in front of the sign was a no park zone or not. Apparently this guy didn't care, or knew better. Can see Seedy further back. And lastly, a brick at work today. That's it for the weekend. Heading up the coast this weekend so will probably see a bunch more stuff. Gf is well on her way to being a qualified 'spotter'. Cheers, Matt

That truck has red tyres. It's also the first time I've seen coloured tyres fitted to something that isn't in promotional photos for coloured tyres.

Right then. Last weekend. Well, starting with work beforehand. Pretty clean, except for the gouge in the bonnet where it's been run under a truck or something. Speaking of trucks. Then we went up the Sunshine Coast for the weekend. Luckily Tropical Cyclone Debbie had moved south by this point so it was actually pretty nice up there. Went up at night. Saw this. Couldn't get a very good shot of it though. Saw the roof of this over the hedge so had to make a detour (the road is lower than it looks, could only see just below the roofline.) And because I could. Drove past this Merc while on our way to the dog beach, so pulled in to a side street to let it pass. And then hunted it down. Luckily it was headed where we were, haha. On the way back the gf got some more passenger spotting practice. Saw this, didn't notice what was in the background at first. Have a larger size so you can kind of see it. The half body on the grass was a Jag as well. Then on the way home we got passed by a Lotus. And lastly, on my way home from dropping the gf home, I followed this Subaru, which was jacked up tractor style, but I couldn't get a decent shot of it side on. That's all for now. Cheers, Matt

These are some pics I took in Taiwan. We were only out for about an hour and a half, it was raining, we were tired, and we had to get up early the next day to catch a train to where our friend lives south of Taipei. There's not many, so have them all! My wide angle is well and truly borked. My friend found this somewhat amusing. This was like a... steak and grill house? I think. It was a bit hard to tell. There's a mini in there somewhere! It was REALLY dark, so I'm surprised I got this good of a pic, haha. Has a little bit of editing to help out. Wet roads and long exposures. Should have climbed up on to the overpass area. Didn't have a tripod though so probably wouldn't have been worth it, I guess. After this, we went back to our tiny hotel and fell asleep. Then went on the rest of our adventure. I think I have some pics on my phone from the rest of the trip so I'll add those in when I do another update with other spots. Cheers, Matt

Went to All Japanese Classic on Sunday. I posted on the fb page where I'd be loitering for a pre-show meet up. Turn out was great! Can find pics from the show here.

Absolutely top quality spotting content going on here, lots of things I don't recognise at all in this round. For example, what is this? It looks like it escaped a 1980s sci-fi set, which makes it amazing. I'm guessing it's some sort of late 80s or early 90s Ford?

Ford Capri.....honest guv there was one for sale on Autotrader last week. Ford Capri XR2 Turbo was so tempted.

Today I saw one of these? Was silver and grey and had handrails along the back, and looked a bit longer. Looked like a swimming pool had rear-ended a car. one of these?

Today I saw one of these? one of these? I thought it might be a mirage, the bed looked similar, but it didn't have the 3/4 window which is why I thought it might be a caribou. Looked longer in the bed than both, though. I thought it was an el camino originally as they were the ones with stupid long beds and tiny cabs, but by that era they'd moved in to more muscle pickup styles.

I thought you guys got capris over there? There used to be heaps here, but they all went out of style and rusted in to the ground. Did you get Ford Telstars? TX5s?

We got the Mazda version of the Telstar/TX5 which was the 626, rather than the Ford variety. We never got the Capri as in your post above, that name disappeared from the UK in the 80s with the twin headlight Mk3.
The Cadillac pick-up you saw could have been a chopped down hearse, it would explain the different proportions.

That is a good point. Wish I hadn't been driving with a coffee in my hand, haha. Probably could have managed a photo.
We have 626s here, too.

Ok, lets travel back in time. It appears I haven't uploaded anything here in a while. I've still been taking photos, though. I'll start with what my gf has sent me. She's a quick learner, she is! Sometimes she even manages to take a photo of a whole car! ;P And now on to things from work and a few other places. Pillarless! He knows he's cool af. I seem to have had an influx of Mercs this month. These were spots from when I went to Beachfest, but they weren't AT Beachfest, so I'll post them here. More to come. Cheers, Matt

Continuing on.. He finally brought his other, other Sunbeam in. All original. I've been spotting this CROWN all over the place at times when I can't grab a photo of it. It showed up outside work but I couldn't work out who owned it. It's not often that I get to park next to something and take a photo with my car too, haha. Bit keen leaving his window down, though. Pork This was great. The owner couldn't work out why I liked it. He thought it was a piece of curse word... I think vulgalour would be keen on this one? Complete with drift battle damage. There are so many Honda's running around at the moment. All with corner surgery. More pork. It's like he thought he wouldn't make it up the curb or something... The most glorious of pram handles. Big boxy agression. Had to go over in to the gym carpark to give this guy a jumpstart. He was also confused as to why I wanted to take a photo of his car. I still like that this is driven daily. I hear it all the time. Break time. Cheers, Matt

Some more pork. Someone has been irresponsibly leaving boxes in the gutter. I worked out who owns it! Had a bit of a chat to him and went and had a closer look, as it was whistling like a kettle as he drove down the road. Not one, but TWO large American barges. This one's ugly as hell, though, Looks like she got her license finally. No more L plates in the window. I spied this one through the security door and got all excited as without my glasses from so far away it looked like a Cressida, haha. A proper workhorse. Here is a terrible picture of a Tercel! Now I've seen two! This one actually lives around the corner from my new place, but it's right on an intersection so a bit hard to take a photo of. Another 164. Jaaaaag. I saw about 50cm of the roof and rear window curve through a bush and knew what it was, haha. A Celsior! Up for sale too. Was kinda tempted as I'd just written off the Cressida. Which means we're almost up to date! Time to celebrate with ice cream! Look, I'm in a green Cressida! Has the same bonnet edge problem as the red one does... Yet another owner unsure why I'm taking a photo of their old shed, haha. And that's it! Cheers, Matt

I thought that was a Suzuki Alto at first. Had to do some searching to identify it, completely new to me. Is it a Subaru Rex? It's pretty neat at any rate, and a great colour, much like that bright green Mazda. What was the hearse behind the Porsche (picture before the above in your post)?

Still love this thread, although I have a disturbing image of you lurking around Australia and jumping out from under things, taking pics of bemused motorists. Thanks for the effort though!

Subaru Sherpa is what it's registered as. You can find out what most cars I post are via this link.
