Not much of an update.... The servo is now back in the bay and looking a lot better Couldn't bare to be out there tonight. My garage is an old small agricultural building with ill fitting rusty metal doors and we have 65mph wind and rain! So I've bought some greasy parts into the house to clean and test the wife-to-be's patience!

Had my wedding on Saturday so now that is out the way I will be able to continue with my cars but here is a few pics which may interest you from our big day... Having a very understanding wife, we had it at a motor museum owned by our friends All the guests got to go in style on a 1930's Albion Variant coach.... The wife got a stunning Cresta PA... I got to use my favourite car ... I've been meaning to play on the pink tractor for years The Cresta was restored to such a high standard. Some more pics... Sorry to bombard you with these pics but it was just the perfect wedding for me!

Update... I'm trying to get my ass into gear and get Lexy ready for the mail VBOA show 2015 at Billing... I gave the Rad a final rinse out... The gearbox captive nuts that live inside the n's chassis leg decided to liberate themselves so I had to make a bracket up to replace them. I de-cruded the underneath of airbox area that had some surface rust blisters, rust treated and painted. The paint isn't the best match but it is hidden by the air box and I know it's not going to deteriorate. Fitted a new clutch Nice clean engine ready to go in.... Now sitting where it should be but not running yet... That's all for now

That battery in the last shot may not be the right kind for cars works wonders on people though.

Little update... Time to put the cooling system back together. The Expansion tank was looking a little dirty So I gave it a good scrubbing out I gave the Rad a good hosing out... I suspect this is it's original 26 year old rad that is still going strong! Replaced bottom ball joint rubber with is still on it's original ball joints hence pinned in and not aftermarket bolts. I put the rad back in and whilst showing my wife my handy work, she pointed out the rad looked a little tired and could do with a lick of paint. She's a corker so... Time to put the bumper and grill back on Now back on four wheels after a good few months Fluids are in but not started yet. I got side-tracked by my 40th Birthday and the opportunity to buy something I've always wanted for my favourite mk1, The Turbo Minx. A few months ago I tried to fit a full leather interior from a Cavalier into my mk1 After much fettling I managed to fit the rear bench but the front's would not play ball. If I somehow welded mk1 base rails to the seats, they would sit too high and my legs would have a perminent groove off the steering wheel. So I gave up and in a huff, gave the full interior to a friend to make garage seats out of. A few months later on the morning of my birthday, My wife gave me a cheque to go and get a set of mk1 seats reuphostered in leather. I thought it was a little extravagant and could justify spending that much money on a car that wasn't pristine. So I gave her the cheque back and popped on to Facebook where I saw these... Anyone would think it was my birthday!!! lol These are out of a mk1 and had been retrimed in leather. So I went on a 200 mile road trip to pick them up. The next day I contacted my mate to see if he still had the Cavalier back seat. He had already welded them to a set of legs and was using them in his garage but after much creeping and a small bottle of JD Honey.... Time for some pics of what I've been doing this afternoon. The back one needs a good bit of work but I love the new interior

cheers for the comments lads. Tried to start Lexy for the first time since rebuild but wasn't having it I suspect I might have the fuel pipes on the wrong way. Does anyone know what way they go? lol I believe that the feed is on the left and the return is on the right... Anyway it was a glorious evening so I poured a drink, got the camera out, put some music on and took some pics of two of my lickle dogs with the cars! Cheers

the return to tank comes out the bottom of the regulator. Cheers Darren, I followed the fuel lines and noticed I had them the wrong way round. Managed to start it but it's running real rough! It'll probably be something small but need to sort it! lol

mini update.... I decided not to concentrate on Lexy the Estate until after the Billing VBOA show next week. I didn't want to end up without a car to go in, so I started working on the mk1 to make sure I get there. After spending a couple of days getting the Minx ready for it's MOT, I had a mini catastrophe when the bonnet decided to introduce itself to the windscreen on route to said MOT station due to me not fastening it down the previous night after repairing the high beam wire :x I was so mad with myself but hey ho, curse word happens! Both the hinges got bent but luckily the windscreen wasn't smashed and I still managed to MOT it after some frantic "You will fit again and lock you B@ST@RD!" moment at the roadside! It turns out both of the hinges got bent and there was a little bit of damage to the bonnet itself but it'll do for now. On a nicer note I started working on my new seats to mate them a little tidier The drivers seat bolsters have a little bit of wear. So I bought a leather repair kit off flea bay... Sanded... Coloured... Filled... More colour and topcoat... I'm quite happy with the improvement for a first attemp

Why have I not seen these on the Island? I'm in Llanddaniel, driving an '81 924 as my daily I thought everyone had seen the mk1 around here. I've driven it as my main car between March and October for the past 4 years. Only down the road from you in Newborough.

Get yourself on mk1oc.com you should be able to find what you need on there. It is a little quiet at this time of year but I'm sure someone can help. It's also worth trying the mk1 astra Facebook groups.
