Humber but, from the one I had in the late 80's, you might want to check that it is not held together with newspaper, chicken wire and Isopons finest.
They do like to rust. Everywhere.
I have a 318 in my shed that could be persuaded from my grasp....

Funny someone should mention the factory V8 versions. I have an old magazine article from Hot Rod & Custom UK (Feb 81) on a restoration of one of the prototypes (with the inevitable slot mags that pretty much everything wore in that era).

Interesting - I expected far more votes for the Rover!
The particular example to which I refer came about as a result of leaving a note (see it does work!) is a 1960 model. It does need work - an exhaust, the head off to sort some sticky valves and a little bit of welding but it is original, has had the brakes rebuilt, electronic ignition unit fitted. The asking price is £1k firm but the seller isn't 100% committed. My problem isn't funding it, it's not having a garage to get it into to do the work myself (and not having a clue about old pushrod engines lol). A good weekend would see it MOT'able and I can sort other issues as they arise.
The P5 is in better condition and around the same money but....it's not the Humber.

Looks like the one above hasn't been taxed since 2002 - fingers crossed it's in a barn somewhere.

Well, some progress has been made!
The seller agreed to part with it, price agreed and deal done. There are also some useful spares in the boot.
That was the easy bit - now to get it collected and shifted somewhere to have the work done. Exciting times!
(If it all goes wrong I can thank everyone who helped 'steer' me in the right direction) :-P
(curse word) pics to follow....

and not having a clue about old pushrod engines lol Fear not, they're easy peasy compared to these new fangled OHC jobbies. 1/2 inch spanner and a hammer and you're sorted! Get a Readers Ride thread started and I'll bookmark it.
