My friends just asked me to dispose of their Peugeot 306 that's been parked up here for a few months. It is a blue Meridian 5dr,1.4 (nope.1.6. I didn't know they made a 1.6 TU!), about 124,000 miles on it. The Meridian has half-leather seats and A/C. the latter being decidedly not-working but it does make optimistic noises.
It's ratty, but not rusty - think "tree sap? Brillo Pad!" kind of paintwork in places. It starts easily, drives about without making noises, has plenty of oil in and around the engine and coolant where coolant belongs.
It has had just two owners - my friend and her mum. I believe that counts as the wonderful "One family owner", but it's not a cherished car, it's just a secondhand one.
Central locking - works on key. It has three keys plus a tiny one which I think is for the spare wheel lock.
Electric windows - working.
Manual windows - working.
Fuel filler release - working.
Bonnet release - working.
Handbrake - working.
ABS - working.
Airbags - light goes off. Someone else can test if they're working.
Radio/CD - aftermarket, working.
Clock display - works.
Auto wipers - working.
Electric mirrors - working.
Aircon fan speeds work at all speeds.
Not overheating.
Not smoking.
No check-engine light on.
New coil pack.
Door check straps noisy.
Wiper blades need replacing, windscreen is not scratched as afar as I remember.
Dent on back under tailgate, dent on door, paint flat and finely scratched on bonnet (lacquer, may mop out if you cared).
Tyres - a variety. Black and round.
Got the paperwork and V5 now - the MOT is up 25th February 2015, naturally even if it were taxed that wouldn't go on it but it's been SORN for a fair chunk of this year. It has central locking but the remote bit of it doesn't want to work.
Nothing is outstandingly bad or good on it. I'll put pictures up later on, but in the meantime if you're near Leicester/Lutterworth and want a cheap 5dr banger to get through to next year, it's here. Any questions and I will try my best to check things out and answer them.
I've been asked to get £350 back - they initially thought £500, but I know what I've seen 306s go for here.
PM me if you're interested and I'll get back to you. What I will take for cash is, unsurprisingly, £350 (I'm more inclined to talk about offers when someone is looking at the car and can point to a reason WHY it should be less), and no swaps or PXs unless it's something I'd want to buy, which would pretty much be an MX5 (Eunos Roadster) automatic and that's about it.
