Haha slowly removing the cheap underseal, a few repairs found but all solid found another previous repair replacement parts arrived.... parts turning up (window seals that take the chrome trim) more goodies turning up... Also got all the unwanted brackets off. Next I just needed to get the battery tray out. Couldn't quite get it with the spot weld drill more to come....

More welding. Couldn't tell if my cousin was welding or having a nap lol More rot cut out and replaced next to cut these out and do the same And get these welded on Last owner had a heavy foot. The accelerator pedal has nearly been ripped off the bulk head few random pics Car now off the spit and these are my new axle stands lol Lined the new rear panel up Cut out, dad cleaning up the edges Working out the cut lines Found this in my replacement panel Had to repair the replacement panel lol Random pic... Welded in, was a pain in the **** joining it up though Cousin welding inside the car Replacingore rot Few skims of filler in, and more welding being done Rear end getting final touches Lining rear arch up Cutting both panels Cut out Perfect fit cleaned, reshaped, sealed then tacked Fitted Tried to line the doors and wings up and found that the hinges on the drivers door are goosed, so I got on to TPS and ordered some new hinges for the next day. Also got these made up the same day by my uncle Bonnet back out Test fit and everything fits great. Front panel is now welded on as well More parts started work on the inside. before. after More goodies Wing nearly back to metal because of the dodgy spray paint curse word pics but I have cut out the lip on the front wings. Saves rolling them later Before After its not show standard like. but I'm made up with it so far mk1 by M-B Photography, on Flickr mk1-2 by M-B Photography, on Flickr mk1-3 by M-B Photography, on Flickr mk1-4 by M-B Photography, on Flickr mk1-2-2 by M-B Photography, on Flickr mk1-5 by M-B Photography, on Flickr ....

Awesome stuff. You dropping the old lump back in? Can't help but think that the 1.4 three-pot PD lump from the Arosa/Lupo/Polo/Ibiza/A2 et cetera would be great in a mk1 *n
