Hello folks. I’m looking for a set of alloys in 5 x 5” flavour (or 5 X 127mm for you Metric types). They need to be at least 15” diameter (same as the ones coming off) to try and bypass any avoidable clearance issues and I won’t be able to accommodate any crazy widths, so say from 5” to 7” or maybe 8” for the back at a push. I’ve yet to work out what sort of ET and backspacing I need; I thought I’d stick this ad up and see what’s around and work from there. According to the internet, 5 X 5” is standard fitment PCD for British cars including the Jensen Interceptor, Rover P5, Rover SD1, Ford P100, BMC Farina, Westminster, 3 Litre and some big Vauxhalls like the Cresta and Viscount. In the U.S. there would seem to be all sorts of stuff like early Galaxies, Thunderbirds, various Buick, Chevy, GMC, Lincoln and Olds stuff as well as some current Jeeps. There’s a good list here . YES PLEASE! Here’s the kind of stuff I’m looking for:
Jensen Interceptor: Kinda like a British version of putting Fuchs on your Bus. Slot Mags: You just can’t go wrong, can you? Astro Supremes: Yeah, gonna be lucky to find any of these.. Revolution /RFX: To colour-code or not…?! Cragar SS: For a bit of an American vibe… TurboVecs, or similar: Ribbed, for your pleasure… Wire Mags: These could work. Maybe… Directional: Early 90s-tastic! I genuinely love these. Don’t tell anyone. Not sure what you call these. Except cool. Keystone Klassics: More American cool. THANKS, BUT NO THANKS. So as I don’t waste your valuable time, here’s some wheels I’ve already pre-dismissed.Rostyles: Sorry, just not feeling the love. Transit / P100: Too Transit / P100. ‘Nuff said. Rover SD1: Same as above, really. Jeep Grand Cherokee: As above, and probably far too wide. Oh, and they’re going on here… Thanks for reading this, feel free to reply here or PM me if you've got anything likely! Cheers, Em.

Hi Paul, cheers for the reply! Nice looking set of wheels you have there! Saw them on your other thread, damn shame they're 5X51/2 or I might well have them. Also being 14" might be asking for trouble as the steels on the van at the moment are 15"s. Thanks again for the offer, I'm sure you won't have them for long!

Hi Em...no problem . I have (x5) Trans-Am wheels 15x7 PCD 5x120.7....I've been trying to put up some pics using my photobucket account, but for some strange reason when I log onto their website none of my pictures are being displayed so I can't copy and paste the links to them. Sorry about this I've just realised that my wheels are 5x120.7 and not 5x127 doh!! . You might be able to get a wider selection of wheels if you were to get some adaptors made up or get your steels banded Sorry for getting your hopes up Em, I hope you do manage to find a set Kind Regards Stuart

Hi again Stuart, Ah, that's a shame about the stud pattern, thanks for keeping me in mind though! Funilly enough, rmad posted a pic of a Commer van on Trans Am wheels here in the "Wheels borrowed from other makes" thread (sadly the picture isn't working right now...) and it looked very cool I thought. Dunno if the owner re-drilled the hubs, the wheels or used spacers though... I'd be interested to see your wheels if you can get Photobucket to play ball, and to hear how much you're after for them. I'm drawing a complete blank on 5X5" / 5X127mm and thinking re-drilling could be my best option... Cheers mate, Em.

I will probably be corrected here, but I found various cars that are (going by various sources on the net) running wheels with the same PCD as your Commer(5x127)... UK... Austin 1800 Landcrab & clones Ford P100 Pickup (Cortina) Commer Humbers Jensen Interceptor Rover SD1, P4/P5/P6 Sherpa Van Vauxhall Cresta Vauxhall Viscount American... Jeep Cherokee >89 Jeep Grande Cherokee >99 Jeep Wrangler JK 2007> Older American... Buick Cadillacs some Impalas Lincolns Mercury I think there may be more but I'm not too sure as I didn't take too long Kind Regards Stuart

Hi again Stuart, My turn to apologise now for not replying sooner! Cheers for your interest and help with this mate! I had actually considered Chevy Astro wheels before; naturally I can’t find it now but a while back I stumbled on a specialist on eBay breaking a load of them. To be perfectly honest, they wouldn’t be my first choice, but you know what they say about how beggars and choosers and all that…! (You'd think with the 5X5 PCD fitting all the motors you've listed above I'd find something fairly easily, but that's not proving to be the case...) Having said all that, I scored these Appliance wire mags on eBay a little while ago: Only a pair and they’re the wrong stud pattern (fairly resigned to having wheels re-drilled now) but I *think* they’ll fit on the back… Didn’t really expect to end up with them (only put a little bid on) but now I have, the search is on for a pair for the front..! There is a guy on eBay at the moment with some (here) but he wants $200 (EACH!) and he’s in the states… Hoping to turn something up at the NSRA Southern Swapmeet in March… And I think if I’ve not found anything by then, I might well break the habit of a lifetime and buy some brand new wheels! Eep!

Hi,
I have a set of 4 15" Jensen Interceptor alloys sat on my dormant Rover P6 at the moment with 205/60/15 Pirelli 6000s on them in good condition. Let me know if you are still looking.

Hello Andy, cheers for the reply. Yeah, I could be very interested in those! How much are you after for them? Don't suppose you happen to know what the backspace is on them? (I've not been able to offer one up to test test the fit yet so although the stud pattern is right, there's still a chance it may not work.) Centre bore diameter would be useful too, if you happen to know it... Oh, and whereabouts are you? (Sorry for all the questions!) Cheers again for the reply, Em.

Cheers Pete,
Will definitely be there! Went last year for the first time and was well impressed with both the range and amount of stuff for sale. To be honest, my biggest problem was carrying it all!
You're right though, it ends pretty soon. I'll get there earlier this time...
