Re the pictures - try simply turning the flash off manually. Those pics seem to have been taken in low light, which tricked the camera into using flash. The number plates light up, but the car is slightly dark. They're still nice pics though, should do the job

Back around the 20th August it was time to put the Golf up for grabs on fleabay, so by now no doubt you're logging on in anticipation to see me write, "and there it goes!.." So without further ado i say, AND THERE IT GOES... Straight back onto funkin ebay!! The winning bidder placed his bid on Saturday evening. Sunday, as the auction was ending i logged on to see how it was going... Not good! It was at £800, and i paid £955 for it about a month ago or so! However there were five minutes or so left to go, and i noticed i had a couple of emails, one of which was from the bidder who was winning. He was asking me to cancel his bid as he no longer wanted it! I thought for crying out loud (or something like that!) Why bid on something if you don't want it? I hoped he was going to get outbid, but ofcourse he didnt! DAMMIT!! So i went out for a stroll, pretty damn angry, at just about everything, including doing this thread. Why am i so stupid that i thought this was a good idea? What kind of idiot am I? Anyway, after a good stroll round which lasted over two hours i went home, and decided, that i would just offer it to the next bidder down, and hope for the best. So i logged onto my fleabay account, an there's this message from the winning bidder asking me to phone him, and he'll pick it up tomorrow (Bank holiday Monday) before 12:00hrs. Great, well by that time it was after 23:00hrs, and i figured that no one was going to appreciate me calling them at that time, so i sent him an email saying where to collect the car from, and at 09:30 on bank holiday Monday i also called him. No answer, i thought he might be enroute, and driving. So, instead of heading out with my kids for the last day of their summer holiday, we all waited in for this fella to show up. Waited, waited, aaaaaaaand waited, until about 13:00hrs, when i said, right, thats it, we're off out. But just to be sure, i called him just before we left... No answer! Later that evening i got a text from him asking if he could have a few photos of the interior, unfortunately this is my phone:- The great and powerful Samsung E1200, ooh yeah! So, er, no, i couldn't send any pictures, and frankly by then i was pretty hacked off that he was even asking me! But today i log onto ebay and find that he's sent me several messages asking if he can come and collect the Golf tonight, and he even phoned me. I must admit, that by now i had come round to the idea that i was just going to re-list it, and hope that this time i get a bit more interest, and even more of my money back (i know, i live in a delusional dreamworld!) But i thought, no, if this fellas going to collect it tonight, then i'll just add this to the losses i've made on all the other cars, and try to work out what else of my stuff i'm going to need to sell in order to keep playing! So, he shows up, and starts having a really REALLY good look round the car, i mean he was really going over it with a fine tooth comb, we go for a drive, and he puts his foot on the clutch pedal, it creaked as it went down. He wasn't happy about this little noise, he then went on to further scrutinise the car, and found various other things about it he didn't like. This is fair enough, but this is what you should do before the auction ends. Once it ends, in my opinion, it's too late, you've bought it. He also thought that at some point one of the hoses to the radiator had been leaking as there was residue on one of the lower hoses, and there was a drop of water near the mark. Fair enough, it had been raining, and it was probably water from that, all the hoses etc were dry, and we were only looking at a teaspoon of water anyway. I'll have my mechanic friend look at it in the morning just incase though before i re-list it. By this time, and having learned from the previous selling episode i had earlier in the year when i sold my truck, i was thinking that i should just forget it, and head off in. Infact, i didn't want the guy to have it at all by this time. So when he offered me £650 for it, i just politely said, no thankyou mate. He tried to justify his offer by telling me that he would need to spend the difference putting the little niggles he's found right. I was getting the impression that he was expecting a concours car, and it isn't concours. Infact, in my listing i even wrote " Please remember that you are bidding to buy, and not to come and haggle afterwards. As you can see from the photos it is a really nice example of the VW Golf cabriolet, and possibly even one of the best examples of it's age and model, but please do feel free to ask questions, or better still come and have a look at it for yourself you won't be disappointed, my telephone number is 07951751594. Also remember that although my little Golf Cabrio really is a fantastic car, and starts first time every time, everything seems to work as it should, it is still a 14 year old car, and not a brand new car, and therefore although it is in very good condition for its age it is not perfect like a brand new car is." He seemed a little dissapointed that i didn't except his offer, and tried to offer it to me again, but i said that i wouldn't feel right taking his money for a car that he wasn't 100% happy with. By this time, even if he had offered me the £800 he won it for or more i would've turned him down. I genuinely don't understand this kind of behavior, i've always been of the mindset that if you win something in an auction, you buy it, unless its just too different to the description. I once bought a Volvo 240, in the ebay ad it was in spanking order, and the photos looked fantastic, it looked great. When i got to it, it was on rusty steel wheels, not the alloys in the photos, a headlamp, and a tail lamp were broken, and there were not two seats in the car that matched, unlike the full set of dark blue velour in the photos. Plus it was dented, scratched, and very rusty! I did walk away from that one, but i felt bad about it, even though the car in the listing was clearly not the car he was trying to sell me! Anyway, i'm rambling away from the point here, i like to describe the things i sell as honestly as i can, in order to avoid dissappointment when the winning bidder gets to me to collect it. But i guess opinions can vary, which is why i also say, come and have a look for yourself. Hopefully the next time i list it, the person who wins the bid will be happy with it. They should be, it is in great shape, though NOT a concourse show winner you understand. Here's the funny thing, as the guy was leaving he gave me some advise, he said that i should hang onto it until the spring, i'll probably gets loads more for it, it's in great shape!!! Whaaaaaaaat!? I guess that for whatever reason, he just didn't want it in the first place. But thats just fine, as by the time he'd decided to come and have a look at it, i really didn't want to sell it to him! All of this does of course mean that i still have a very clean 2001 Golf Cabriolet for sale. £955 sees it in your driveway! As annoyed as i was about this whole ebay incident, it might turn out for the best. When i bought the Golf my friend, the now EX-car dealer said to me that i should hold off selling it until after the summer holidays are over, as according to him, nothing sells during the summer holiday. Well, the summer holidays are now over, so hopefully he's right. Of course, it might fall fowl of that rule that says every time you list something on ebay it sells for a little less. Time will tell, but frankly i could do with a massive bidding war that ends with me making a few quid profit for a change... I'll not hold my breath! As a side note, a wierd thing happened tonight... I got recognised. I pulled up to the pumps at the petrol station next to a quite playworn white BMW 316 (possibly) estate. As i was filling up the Golf a woman came out of the shop, and got into her BMW, then leaned out of here window and said to me, nice Golf. I said, thanks, i quite like your Beemer (do people still call them that, or am i showing my age now?) Anyway, she said, Thanks. And as i was putting the nozzle back into the pump she said, See you around... Pistonpopper!!! And pulled off!! I thought whoa there, what the heck just happened, i can understand being spotted in the Talbot, or even in the Mustang, but a fairly blend-in-able Golf? It felt like a real American Grafitti, Curt and the Blonde in the white T-bird moment! Unlike Curt though, i'm not going to try and get Wolfman Jack to help me find her, and i'm not going to wait up all night next to a phonebox hoping she'll ring! (Mrs Pistonpopper won't let me!)

That's a bummer.
You'd think by now people would have realised the difference between an auction and a classified ad, but that seems not to be the case. I'd love to see them at a BCA (or similar) bidding on that Merc they just had to push into the ring, winning it, then trying to haggle at the payment window!
Anyway, best of luck with the re-listing.

I was at a branch of the above same auction house just the other day purchasing a Smart 'car' for the bettter half (Don't ask not my choice, but tbh i can't fault it...) And that very scenario was playing out before my eyes with a gentleman (the phrase very loosely used) arguing that the van he bought in Trade No reserve sale (The name really should of given it away to him, ie. they are good for scrap and thats about it) wasn't worth what he paid for it. He really didn't have much luck and was last seen being escorted of the premises with his new purchase... Fingers crossed for an Indian summer for the re-list and hope the timewasters relent this time pistonpopperJp

Fancy being recognised in a fuel station! What are the odds!
Only last week, I had a few messages saying people had seen my truck outside an MOT station where I'd left it for new engine mounts to be fitted. Shows you what a small world the RR world is!

This is again why I never auction cars on ebay. Classified ad's all the way, less fee's, less time wasters and no need to pay a relist fee if someone turns up and decides they don't want it.
I never understand why people feel it's ok to view the car after winning the bid and not before. It's too easy on ebay to just bid and forget about something. Personally I think it should be like most auctions and have a buyers fee aswell as a sellers fee. Would put off most of the time wasters then.

Ebay just attracts so many curse word timewasters it's untrue. I tried selling various items, cars included and just had nowt but aggro from it. I was selling my MK2 Golf, i really didn't want to but reality was i had nowhere to keep it and so i placed it on there with a belter of a write up as well as pictures a plenty. 'Knob rot' (not his really username oddly enough) bid on it and then won it. less than an hour later he messaged me saying he no longer wanted the Golf as he had just bought another car !!!! I went ballistic and messaged him back stating that he bid and won my car and had a duty to come and buy it, he never replied and so i reported him to Ebay. They looked into it, put a strike against him ( for what it was worth) and i got refunded. I then sold it off ebay to the other highest bidder, he turned up, loved it and bought it for a tad over his offer. Ebay is wibblepoo really, it just attracts sooo many numbnuts it's not funny.

I've bought my last five cars and my big trailer through the local equivalent of ebay and although I've taken a few chances with buying stuff sight unseen I've been lucky. Sometimes things are blatantly misrepresented like when they say "no rust" and it's got big holes visible in their photos. Of course when the car is forty years old you just know there's going to be a little bit of rust no matter how well the thing has been looked after. Thing that annoys me a bit is semiliterate fools who have no idea what they are selling.

The following day after being let down by an ebay timewaster i had a few errands to run, and decided that i would take the scenic route, and try to figure out what my next move was going to be. It occured to me that i had several options, first, keep the car, put it into storage, and await the next spring. Then pull it out, give it a good wash, and try to sell it at the begining of the season rather than the end, and hopefully, have a big win in the process! Secondly, put it straight back on the bay of E, and hope for the best. Lastly, see if anyone wants a swap! Does anyone fancy swapping? By the time i got back home i was still pretty despondent, but i was thinking that it should go back onto ebay, with new photos, and a new write up. Then, hope for some sort of 'Indian Summer' which will hopefully give the sale of my cabrio a second wind! And remembering what my ex car dealer mate said about cars not selling particularly well during the summer holidays, i've got nothing to lose by putting it back up for grabs! But by the way, if anyone does fancy a very nice Golf Cabrio, don't be shy, just find your way to the front in an orderly manner. Anyway, while i was out and about mulling things over as i drove around i did see a famillier face... My little Street Ka parked by the side of the road. It was good to see it to be honest, it reminded me that it's not all bad doing this little project, and that some good times have been had, and are probably still to have Hopefully the Golf will sell this time, and it'll sell to someone who will appreciate it, and not try to pick it apart in order to get out of buying it. The thing is, i've owned over fifty cars in my life, and with the exception of two cars that i've owned. Once i've sold them, i've never seen them again... EVER! I've even sold them to people in the town where i live, and once they've driven away from me, and out of my road, they've just dissappeared into the ether. The Carlton i've been looking for was sold to a guy who lived less than a mile from me. I never saw it again, although my brother saw it about five years after i sold it, and by all accounts it was still looking good and going well. Other friends have also spotted my old cars when they're out and about, but i never see them. The funny thing is, out of all the cars that i've owned the only two that i've ever seen again have both been Ka's... Meanwhile, back somewhere near the plot... By the time i got home, i just thought i'd check the internet, and see if there was anyone who fancied swapping their car for mine. I made a few enquiries, including one to a fella who actually advertised that he was after a Golf Cabrio for his girlfriend. I figured it might be a fair swap, depending of course one what kind of condition she was in! Kidding... Just kidding! He was offering a red 2004 ALFA ROMEO 156 VELOCE. It looked pretty nice, and as i've never had an Alfa i thought i'd give it a go. But he didn't care for my Golf, his response was " No ta mate, i don't like green." Fair enough, each to their own i guess. I even tried offering it to the next bidder down on the list, but unfortunately by then they were bidding on another car. So then, i guess thats all options checked, time to re-list... DAMMIT!! But first, i think i'll vent a little steam here, and have a little rant. No, I think he said it was a beemer.... I was still pretty ticked off by being let down by the winning bidder of my Golf at the time that i read this, and that genuinely made me chuckle! Thanks. I'd love to see them at a BCA (or similar) bidding on that Merc they just had to push into the ring, winning it, then trying to haggle at the payment window! that very scenario was playing out before my eyes with a gentleman (the phrase very loosely used) arguing that the van he bought in Trade No reserve sale (The name really should of given it away to him, ie. they are good for scrap and thats about it) wasn't worth what he paid for it. He really didn't have much luck and was last seen being escorted of the premises with his new purchase... I remember seeing that kind of caper happening at Blackbushe years ago, in any auction it's obvious to me, you bid, you win, you buy. If you don't want to buy it, then don't bid... Simple! I never understand why people feel it's ok to view the car after winning the bid and not before. It's too easy on ebay to just bid and forget about something. Personally I think it should be like most auctions and have a buyers fee aswell as a sellers fee. Would put off most of the time wasters then. I can't understand this behavior either. A couple of years ago i sold one of my motorcycle projects, a guy got it, came and looked at it, then told me that he'd actually bid on another one, and the other one was better so he was going to have the other one instead. Personally if he'd have turned up to see mine first, then announced that he was going to look at another one before commiting to the sale i think i'd have told him that he either took my bike then, or he would be reported to ebay police... Whatever damn good that does! The worse thing is though that there are people out there who just bid on stuff with no intention of buying it if they win. I have a 'friend' and i'm using the term in the loosest possible sense because frankly, he's a knob! This fella is on ebay 24/7, he loves to bid on stuff, and pretty much anything is fair game. He likes the feeling of winning, and thats great, so do i! The difference is, when he wins he has no intention of collecting his winnings! I've asked him what the point of it all is then? He says that he gets a buzz out of winning, and a bigger buzz out of messing the loser around whos selling stuff! What a W-anchor!! I'm sure that he's even bid on my stuff before now, and won it and not collected it. The thing is, he's not alone, i'm sure there are loads of people doing this every day, probably all having a good laugh at messing around decent people who are just trying to sell stuff. But ebay arn't interested, as long as they get their listing fees, and sellers fees, they're happy. But it would be so easy for ebay to remove these knob-jockeys from the game. All ebay would need to do is make it simple, as far as i'm aware if you're on ebay, you have to have a PayPal account. So what ebay should do is make it so if you win an auction, then the money is automatically removed from your account, and paid to the seller, all the people who like to mess sellers around on ebay removed in one fell swoop... Easy. I'm rambling again, sorry, but... Ebay is wibblepoo really, it just attracts sooo many numbnuts it's not funny. Could not have put it better myself. Anyway, back to the plot, as i said, it looks like i'll be re-listing it again. However, the sun has got his hat on, so i've been continuing to drive the damn thing! This weekend i decided to attend the now biannual crapfest known as Beaulieu Autojumble, held at Beaulieu Motor Museum (if you'd like to see my poor quality photos of it, they're here... retrorides.proboards.com/thread/182382/beaulieu-summer-autojumble-2015-pics). I've been attending this event now for over 25 years to buy rusty curse word that i neither want or need but have to have, and knowing the numbers of people who attend, i figured i'd take the Golf, put a for sale sign in the window, and try to park it where it would get seen. To that end i give you... Front row in the main parking field, next to the exit road! I don't know how successful my idea will turn out to be, but it didn't cost me anything, and it may have caught the right persons attention. It caught the attention of this fella who stopped and got out of his Ferarri to have a good look around it. As you can see, i've got it up for £1000, giving me some room for a bit of haggling, although hopefully not too much lol! But with the sun beating down on my bald head all weekend, hopefully someone somewhere will have seen it and realise that this is the car for them! (No calls or email yet though!) Otherwise it'll be back to ebay for it later this week, but as i've already discovered when i tried to sell the Jaguar, the more times something is listed, the less it sells for every time. But, along with jpr1977, I've got my fingers crossed for an Indian summer for the re-list and hope the timewasters relent this time!!

Who would have thought such a tidy looking MK3.5 would he hard to sell (for a reasonable price)? Incidentally I saw you last week with the roof down, I was on a P&R bus a t the time, at least I that I think it was you.

Brilliant thread and a great idea, absolutely loving the updates, hoping you do manage to get to car number 12 and finish up breaking even at least. Myself and my wife both love old cars and enjoy tweaking / tinkering with them to bring back up to scratch. We decided that to try and improve our mechanical skills and overall knowledge that we would buy cars that needed some work / repairs doing to them, so that we could improve ourselves and the cars before selling them on. We agreed that we would only buy cars up to the year 2000, as after this date computerised electronics / sensors and the overall design of them makes it difficult for the home mechanic to carry out repairs. Still enjoying ourselves and still loving it, also still waiting to break even, nevermind make a little profit though, lol. We've also had issues with the bay of fleas, only a couple of times though. I mostly advertise as a classified ad to keep costs down and the first time I did this, I set the ad up so that if someone offered an amount I'd be happy with, it would automatically accept the offer and end the auction. A few days later I got an email stating that the car had been sold for a reasonable offer. Only, the buyer didn't get in touch and didn't reply to my emails, checking his feedback it was fairly evident that he regularly bids on things without paying and collecting them, always larger items as well but mostly cars. Needless to say he is now blocked from bidding on anything we offer for sale and all my classified ads are now set up so that I receive notification of the offer and I can decide whether to accept it or not. The other issue was very similar to yours, I got notification of an offer a couple of hundred under the classified price ( I budgeted for offers ) I accepted the offer and the buyer turned up on time, we went for a drive and he crawled all over the car afterwards. He then offered me less than his original offer to " drive it away now", I declined his offer stating that he had already offered more which was still £200 less than my asking price, he agreed and gave me the full amount he'd offered previously.

Incidentally I saw you last week with the roof down, I was on a P&R bus at the time, at least I that I think it was you. If it was a fat bald bloke in a very tidy Mk3 Golf Cabrio, yep it was probably me lol! Next time wave, i probably won't see you unless you're waving like a maniac, but if you are, i'll wave back... I'll wave at anyone Brilliant thread and a great idea, absolutely loving the updates, hoping you do manage to get to car number 12 and finish up breaking even at least. Thanks, glad you're enjoying the thread, for the most part i'm enjoying writing it, and indeed the driving the different cars part too. Although it has to be said that i don't enjoy the selling part at all, it honestly just leaves me cold, and even the thought of it fills me with dread! Still, i guess it's all part of the story that needs to be endured in order to write the full account. I hope i manage to get to car number 12 too, the Golf is car #7 so only 5 left to go. I am still wondering what else i'll need to sell in order to fund the final five though! Of course the optimistic side of me that always see's the glass as half full thinks that i can still turn a little profit from my Golf, and is hoping for an Indian Summer to help keep people interested in buying themselves a nice little convertible. The trouble is my pessimistic side, that thinks the glass is half empty at the very best has already checked the long range forecast, and it doesn't look good for that Indian Summer i had hoped for:- Is it just me, or is anyone else looking at this map and hearing Clive Dunn singing "Who do you think you are kidding Mr. Hitler"? So anyway, the long range weather for the week that the Golf is back on the bay of E looks like this... As one area of low pressure moves away from the United Kingdom on Sunday, yet another will approach the region bringing another round of unsettled weather. YIPPEE!!Not all parts of the United Kingdom had rainfall on Sunday with the heaviest falling across the far Southeast as well as the Southwest during the afternoon. However, conditions will turn more unsettled on Monday as low pressure nears the region. Splendid. On Monday, spells of rain will dampen southern Wales and England throughout most of the day (and also the sale of pistonpoppers Golf cabriolet). While the day may begin dry in London, rain will return through the afternoon, if not a little before. In some areas, that rain is expected across southwestern England, temperature highs will be held below 15 C (59 F). Across the rest of England, temperature highs will be largely between 15-20 C (59-68 F). Farther to the north, across Scotland, even chillier air will be found as some of the Highlands fail to rise above 10 C (50 F). Coastal locations will have highs closer to 15 C (59 F). to be fair, if you're living in Scotland you're probably still driving around in convertibles enjoying the summer weather! Not only will the rain cause cooler temperatures, but travel delays will be a concern as well (but not as much concern as i've got about selling my Golf for a profit believe me!). Rain, combined with a strong wind, will cause delays on the ground and through the air. Flight delays in London could become lengthy as rain and low clouds develop. In addition to the rain, a near gale-force wind is expected to howl along the coasts of southwest England. Strong wind gusts will blow across southern England, with the strongest wind reserved for areas to the south of London. Hoooooraaah!!Residents wanting a break from the unsettled weather will have to continue to wait as the remains of Tropical Storm Henri spread more rain and wind across the United Kingdom through the middle of the week. Splendid, I'll look forward to that then, although i'll bet Michael Fish says it isn't coming! Let's just see:-Nope, actually Michael Fish says it's all looking pretty good, 26ºC and sunny in most parts of the country!! Good old Michael Fish, he wouldn't let you down... Well, except for that time on the 15 October 1987 when an extratropical cyclone blew in with hurricane-force winds causing casualties and severe damage in England, France and the Channel Islands. However, to be fair to him, he did warn of high winds for the UK, although the storm that actually occurred was far stronger than he had predicted. But, in reaction to this controversy, the term "Michael effect" has been coined, whereby British weathermen are now inclined to predict "a worst-case scenario in order to avoid being caught out" so if nothing else he's made sure that he will be remembered, and name has been written into the history books! Years later he commented that if he was given a penny for every mention of that forecast, he would be a millionaire. Well here you go Michael, here's another penny for your jar And now the Shipping Forecast, issued by the Met Office on behalf of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency today. Rockall, Malin, Hebrides, Bailey. Southwest gale 8 to storm 10, veering west, severe gale 9 to violent hurricane force 12. Rain, then squally showers. Poor, becoming moderate... Hmm, don't like the sound of that already, and i'm not that much into boats so i'll not bother going on with the shipping forecast! So, not the best week for selling a convertible, but, as Golfs have such a widespread appeal, maybe people wont mind that it's not a tin top, and to be fair with the roof up, you really wouldn't notice that it's a soft top, there's no draughts, it doesn't leak, it even fairly quiet when you're driving, even at motorway speeds. So fingers crossed that this time, someone will buy it, and it'll go for somewhere near the £955 that i paid for it. And lets not forget, the summer will return... one day! Without further ado, here's the ebay link:- www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2001-Volkswagen-Golf-Convertible-Cabriolet-Cabrio-Very-Long-MOT-no-reserve-/151813036226?hash=item2358c318c2BUY IT!!... please

Having followed your journey from the beginning it's a shame that a 'landmark' has made itself at home but fear not. Due to the fact that the Golf is a five seater then the weather shouldn't be such a deciding factor as to when/ if it'll sell easily. If it was a full on rag top (sports car variant) such an an MG, MX5, MR2 etc then yeah it'd be a tad stubborn to find a new home. BUT as it can be used as a family car and is s decent make from the reliable stable of Volkswagen then it's a good all round car. How many i wonder really are used as intended? I've seen Audi TTs and such like in blazing sunshine with their roofs firmly shut. People seem to just drive them and the thought of removing the roof an enjoying alfresco driving seems lost to most. Your Golf holds its own as it's a good era for VW, build quality was good, you know that a ragtopped Dub isn't likely to end up like a dribbling, draughty place to be. I'm just trying to lift your spririts, this car selling malarky has moments where it stalls but keep ya chin up Mr P.

I wish you would buy Autos. Then I might buy one lol! Please stay tuned SmokeEm, stay tuned! I know what you're saying cavboy80, a Golf holds its own as it's a good era for VW, build quality was good, you know that a ragtopped Dub isn't likely to end up like a dribbling, draughty place to be, and not only that, the Golf has a huge following. It is a five seater car that can be used as a family car and is s decent make from the reliable stable of Volkswagen and it's a good all round car so then the weather shouldn't be such a deciding factor. Funny thing though, the weather's been a bit bleak all week, and it's sat at about £700, today, out comes the sunshine to dry up all the rain, and instantly it goes up by about £100... Hoping for a scorcher at the weekend when the auction comes to an end lol! if i could afford the insurance on the golf id have snapped it up already. big fan of a mk3.5 in green.....and they look the tits when they're scraping along the groung Go on, buy it, you know you want it... Worry about how you'll pay the insurance later

Great thread Mr Pistonpopper, although most of the cars you've had so far are newer than my (non-car-enthusiast) parents daily driver! Funny you say this about he c class, I've had a c220 CDI for two years it's done 55k miles and easily averages 55 mpg and I can get it up to 65 to 70 easily. It's also an vinyl leather interior that I get on with an the Becker sat nav has been easy to use, it is also pretty quick when you want it to be, it is however very heavy on brakes, but the don't tyres are the originals and must be made of stone! I did nuke start stop to begin with but don't mind it at all anymore. Good luck with the sale I the golf, I think this should be easy to move on, good colour and like the matching roof. But yours was Diesel? Mine was petrol. No idea who made the Sat Nav but you've got some joystick thing hovering where the handbrake should be, coupled with a voice input thing that doesn't understand English lol I've just had a C220 for the last 2 weeks. 2.0 Petrol Auto (7spd) and it's returned 48.7MPG on unleaded according to the trip computer. You must have been driving around with your hair on fire! I didn't have any issues with the interior or sat-nav either

I didn't hang about no, all country lanes - never saw an A road, let alone a Motorway. I'm not saying I had 'Issues' as such, more that IF i had paid curse word loads of wedge for a brand new Mercedes, I would want more quality than what is on offer. (Not real leather any more) etc etc. As for the Sat nav, when you are used to how easy a Tom Tom is, everything else seems over complicated. To me anyway.
