Today has been mayhem but in a good way.
Up at 6:20am and straight on it.
Vinyl cut to size ...
Quick check over box to see how it looked now dry...
Would these lines between layers show once trimmed?
Only one way to find out, let's brush some glue on...
And another coat of glue to be sure...
Applied...
Excess cut off...
Those imperfections were lost in the glue layers!
Vase and tea pot to weigh down the foam top flat...
Flipped upside down to glue excess along bottom edge to the underside and also to trim the foam to size / shape with a Stanley knife...
Enclosure fitted...
Sub fitted, although not actually wired up yet, and plush rug trimmed to follow shape of enclosure ...
I'm not happy with the neatness of the cut on the foam / it will be trimmed in material to match the seats but in the meantime I might try sanding the edges to get a smooth edge.
View from the boot, the lip of MDF that's still white is the ledge where the amp cover will bolt on to...
Really chuffed with how it's turned out and love how it just sits nice and high right in the middle of the bus but the build is so subtle that blends in with the rest of the interior. The height is also spot on to use as an arm rest as intended.
And one last job to do before I washed the bus ready for Gravity Show was to fit the lamin x film on the tail lights.
Before...
After...
Are you winking at me?!
Panda panda panda panda
Arrived at the show with barely a fly splat on her which was some going for an hour's journey through country roads and M42, quick side shot before any on site cleaning but before a car parked alongside me...
And after cleaning, the bus is living it up in the VIP hall overnight with some expensive Nissan cousins...
And I'm sleeping in a tent that my bed doesn't fit in!
But the grass is soft and i have amaretto and coke to get me through it and my lack of sleep last night due to the sub enclosure work will hopefully help me to crash.
Pretty much a field to myself, no facilities but £10 a night compared to an £80 hotel is a no brainer when I'm on my own any way...
Next plans on the build then are to get everything wired up using just 6M and 4T and build the amp cover and then sort out 10W locations to cover the midbass.
