I booked in a four hour session of car time today so lots of progress made and the bus is looking more bus-like again.
First up a few close-ups around the driver seat area because some other owners wanted to know how feasible mounting the driver seat further back is...
4" gap between driver seat rail and middle row rail...
Driver seat removed..
Added a few more cable ties to the speaker cables and trimmed the ones I'd used when I routed the cables ...
Front carpet pulled into place (this is passenger side) ...
With the driver seat out I could trim a couple of inches off the foam I cut off last week and fit it in place under the driver side of the front carpet...
All pulled into place with relevant overlaps in the right place...
A couple of squares cut out in the carpet and foam for where the bolts will go through the bottom of the sub box and into what used to be the captive nuts for the middle seat rail (I'll also put two bolts through the holes that you can see in the floor where there used to be locating pins in the middle seat rail) ...
Toll card reader bolted onto the glove box backing and that bolted into place...
Centre console clipped and bolted into place - proved a bit of a struggle thanks to the raised carpet due to the cable run but all fitted ok....
Glove box face clipped back in position...
Driver's left foot rest pushed into position (i broke the bottom screw when removing it because I thought it was a cap to lever off but they're actually the bolts themselves and need a flat bladed screwdriver with a wide head to unscrew them...
Driver seat bolted back in again...
Driver side cubby / fuse / obd2 port cover refitted...
Lots of owners ask about the phone plug within the passenger seat plastics - here's it's plug - in theory if you use a multimeter you could wire up a different phone charger to it. Maybe. If it's worth it...
Centre console cup holder screwed back in place...
Lower centre console hinge down cubby clipped into place...
Passenger seat bolted back in...
The two passenger side rear heating vents pushed back into position ...
The passenger side rear rail trim clips refitted...
Passenger side middle row seat lowered into position...
Bolted in place (17mm heads) and the pins that operate the sliding rail mechanism levered (forced) back into position...
The plastic clamshell trim panels that cover all the middle seat metalwork. The driver side ones are labelled RH. The unlabelled ones are passenger side...
Fit onto each other by clips into holes and onto the metal frame with plastic poppers (2 at the back and 2 at the front) ...
Flash making the carpet grey...
The front looks nice and classy now (or will do on it's finished IMHO) ...
Over the shoulder view from the driver's seat, pleased that my plans ran true and that there's full clearance for the seats to slide back and forth and room for an amp cover to fit along the middle too...
Next plans are to refit the rail trims and heater vents etc on the driver side rear rails so that I can refit the driver side middle row seat and then all the step panels before I start the woodwork so I don't get MDF dust over it all.
