Nearly forgot, I made a new template for the tyres. The rubber mats were brilliant and super hard-wearing but after a few years they perished (of course), so I've gone with a boringly sensible and practical idea suggested earlier in the thread - presumably through stifled laughter! should spray this on soon when I do the bonnet struts and a few other bits.

Emdee - offending neighbours since 1979 FTFY 😁 worth noting that I wanted it to say YOHOMAMA but since my wife is driving it on the school run... Need to make a DadVan stencil now 😆

'Sup Gang? Some parts have appeared: Bonnet struts're finally here (yay), along with a new cone filter, a new MAF sensor and some shiny gold tape. Probably didn't need a cone filter tbh, it's not mentioned in here but I already had a green cotton panel filter in the thing, but it was feeling a bit sluggish and coming up with some EML codes for the MAF so I unplugged the MAF sensor and went for a spin. It seemed less slow with it unplugged so I decided to splash out on a new Bosch one and stick a cone filter on it. Truth be told it probably wont help much, but it was only cheap so why not? I've been toying with the idea of a remap so I thought I should do this first. Old one out Started messing about with an old beer box (got plenty of those right now): Sanded it down poorly and chucked some graffiti paint at it that was lying around, then keyed that up a bit Found some black vinyl and stuck that on, sanded the edges etc Then stuck a bunch of the gold heat reflecting tape on the other side. Then decided to chop a bit off the air feed that comes across the front of the engine bay. Fairly happy with how it's turned out. And it does seem to go a bit better. And in the time honoured tradition of me posting in this thread, no update would be complete without me saying that I have bought another set of wheels. So I have bought another set of wheels. Obvs.

Which wheels? Need pictures. Glad to see this is still going, and still offending people. My old Multi is properly dead. I sold it back to the garage I bought it from, they fixed it and put an extra 10k on it, and then swerved to avoid a deer and wrapped it around a tree. The running gear is likely to end up in something else though.

IIRC they default to thinking the inlet air temp is a bazillon degrees when you unplug the MAF hence why they go quicker with a working one.
Need to stock up on gearbags too if you go much over 150-160bhp

Today this happened: Which is nice. This also took place: Which is sub-optimal. The sharper among you may have spotted the issue. I appear to have 4 lovely new wheels and 3 lovely new tyres. LOL ROFL FML etc. I'm now only waiting for a "stud conversion" and some "subaru" locking bolts. And a tyre.

Interested to see which bola wheels you went for. The B5s are my favourite. *Googles b5* oooh they are good, but exposed bolt 5 spokes don't look right unless they're 5 stud imo. in fact I'm not even sure if they do 4 stud ones? so no, not your favourite ones I'm afraid, but they're mine so I'm ok with that =D

That’s the main thing - I’ll wait and see then if it’s my second favourites

Tyre number 4 has arrived! Knew it would. I wasn't worried, seriously. Also got this little lot. Some 80mm studs and some fancy bolts. 80 is possibly a bit too long, but I didnt know how thick the wheels are and I'll need to play around with spacers as I'm not sure on clearance, and hey I figure too long is better than too short. We have the technology. Gonna get the tyres mounted and balanced tomorrow and then probably wont get round to fitting until Sunday at the earliest. Oh and I took a peek inside a box. =D Hope they look as good on the car as they do in my head. I decided to do a dirty photoshop but I'm not posting it as I'm worried it wont look as good in real life cause it was hard to guess sizes and I still cant slam it. Anyway we will see. Feel like a dog with two Donalds.

I genuinely can't wait to see them fitted as I reckon they're going to look rather nice. Puts my lockdown effort of fitting a tow bar to my Multi to shame!

Those wheels are great. They look a lot like the Integrale Evo wheels. Can't wait to see them on the Multi...

My dad had one of these as a company car when it was brand new. It was brilliant and awful at the same time (how is that possible haha).. could fit all 6 of us in comfortably (until this point we'd squeezed 4 kids into back seat of whatever boring car he'd had), we all had "our" seat. Took all of us and luggage up to lake District, wasn't ginormous etc etc. Yet at same time electrics had a mind of there own, boot would pop open randomly, it had about a bazillion new windscreens in and the sump leaked oil... Through the sump! It was porous!?!?!? Haha. All that was on a brand new one, oh and the looks, but we're not talking about that lol
Strangely enough reading this has got me pondering one (although I've just got a Mazda 5 for her to abuse daily, which will hopefully be less temperamental) maybe.hopefully
The new wheels look mega, what model are they are, I know there Bola, a set would look spot on on my is200.
Bookmarked
