I will reply to all the points raised so far but this one got my attention Well run from my point of view. It would be nice to have managed four runs, I know some people in the afternoon managed five but then that was probably dependant on the weather and lack of afternoon entrants. A little red MX-5 in the afternoon told me on his last run it was his 7th go and he only ran in the afternoon That's what I mean, I ran in the morning and managed to get three runs (which is what I expected). In an ideal world it would have been nice to get more, seven would be like christmas had come early but I always expected to only get three so it was far from a disappointment. As I say though I suspect the multiple runs in the afternoon were due to less entrants in the afternoon session due to weather. Top job Ian :-) ps - opening the paddock on Saturday night is a good shout!

indeed, would give people a chance to get cars set up and off the field without waking up those with a tender head in the campsite
and those early bird photographers to get some good snaps
ps. I clearly suck at quoting

Big thanks to all who ran the hill, My dad in his Silver Audi Coupe did the morning session and though it was all ran very well, he found no confusion with what to do on the day, what paperwork to bring and what time to be at what place. Credit to you all involved in the process and planning.
Reading others comments, for ‘morning hill session goers’ to park in the paddock in line ready for the hill the night before is a good idea, this would allow 80% of the cars to be in place ready and with any stragglers or people that turn up in the morning to join the back. The only downside I can think of is that this would require the need for full time staff on the gate on the Saturday, checking and allowing the right cars through and also to police un needed car movements to maintain a safe paddock. On a plus side this would look cool for the paddock to be alive and full the night before, as a lot of people do enjoy seeing and walking around the event the night before and could tease a few more people into the club house for food and beer (very good food and beer I might add)
Stickers are still a good idea and are a cool memento of the event. Colour coding morning, afternoon and guest cars is a good idea

ps. I clearly suck at quoting Needs a bit of work but at least you tried - I wrote a post on how to do fancy multiple quotes in the website feedback area years ago - I'll see if I can find it.... The hard bit is always selective quoting and multiple quotes from different posts

I'm sure I recall that the gate from the camping field and into the paddock 'rear entrance' had security posted on it throughout Friday and Saturday anyway

Hi Martin here, with the blue Skyline. On the run in to Shelsley i was cursing and stressing like mad as i thought i would miss the briefing. Pulled up into the queue at 0755 waving my paddock pass, I was waved down straight into the paddock. Quick doc check and i was lined up ready to go. Felt pretty damn flawless to be honest, good comms and good vibes from the marshalls. All problems like running late, car being stinking dirty etc were all of my own doing haha! I did the afternoon session last year, so i can't compare... But i imagine the morning pre-book scenario helped alot. Good comms via E-Mail too, had some questions, answered instantly. See you all next year!

I thought it was run really well. Comms were clear, and I knew what was expected.
Someone mentioned using a white marker instead of stickers. Please don't do that, as they scratch perspex race windows.
What we do at some club days is print up laminated numbers that can be taped to the inside of the window where ever they are needed.

Pulled up into the queue at 0755 waving my paddock pass, I was waved down straight into the paddock. Quick doc check and i was lined up ready to go. That's how it was supposed to work - I'd just walked up that and and explained my issue to the traffic guys Felt pretty damn flawless to be honest, good comms and good vibes from the marshalls. All problems like running late, car being stinking dirty etc were all of my own doing haha! You sir made me chuckle - once you were in the paddock I heard you ask if anyone had any tyre shine....... I never really thought I'd hear that at an RR show I did the afternoon session last year, so i can't compare... But i imagine the morning pre-book scenario helped alot. Good comms via E-Mail too, had some questions, answered instantly Thanks

It was my first time to this event and I saw no major issues with the organisation at all
We arrived pretty early at just after 8 and queued for only about 15 mins or so to get in the paddock. The instructions both in the pack and on the day were very clear in my opinion
Fantastic day, relaxed atmosphere and I'd love to do it again next year, probably in the 164 Q4 again!
Thanks to all

Having been one of the poor sods who only got 2 runs on last years morning session, this year was much better and though I hadn't pre-booked (somehow the possibility escaped my notice) I got 5 runs in on the afternoon session and would have done more but the rain started again and I knew I wouldn't get any quicker. My congrats and thanks to all the stewards and marshalls who had it running like clockwork as far as I could see!

Steve I was really sorry about that situation last year - first year at a new venue meant we were learning fast but not fast enough Just to say a measure of how much we improved this year was that we got everyone in the morning three runs and lost 45 mins in total and finished 15 min ahead of time plan - 4 runs for all was a definate possibility before the down time.

"What an epic event" I only managed to get 2 runs in the morning last year so made sure that I got to the paddock nice and early this time as I'd been lucky enough to be chosen for the 1st batch morning session. I arrived at 7:10am and from that point on I couldn't really fault any aspect of how the paddock or hill was run, especially as I was first to line up in the paddock All RR staff and marshals seemed to know what they were doing and the atmosphere was as warm and friendly as any other event I've competed at over the years. Apart from constructing a dedicated return road from the top paddock I don't really know how this year's event could have been improved for me personally. Well done to all involved and roll on next year. P.S I was in the white Mk2 Escort with the Castrol bonnet stripes.

Are runs on the Saturday out of the question? Events at santapod often have runs both days with club stands on the second day only. & shelsley obviously have events all the time over 2 days. I'd certainly run on both days

Are runs on the Saturday out of the question? For our sanity Alex yes ... we have thought about it before. I'm putting up my thanks and behind the scenes type thread at some point today, Saturday may well kill us if we did it!
