As always, a great read. Loving the "belly assister" for the guy bent over shearing - I'd have been tempted to take my feet off the floor to try to do a Superman! Probably fall face first into a pile of sheep pellets though

Got into work today with a large sign attached to my screen stating "Ring Porsche GB URGENTLY!!!!". "Why?" I thought, "We don't sell alligator loafers with ostrich hide bows so why call me?". I made the call and it was because I'm 'old car guy' (you are free to put the emphasis where you will on the old bit). Porsche Centre GB are restoring a 924 GTP and as the blurb says In 1980 Porsche entered Le Mans with three examples of the new race car which were piloted by teams from Germany, USA and Great Britain. Titled the 924 GTP, each car raced under their national colours in the highly competitive 'Prototype' class. 924 GTP 002 remains the only Porsche factory owned race car ever to compete under a British flag. Having been used for further testing the car was officially retired in 1982.They've got three days to get it ready now and they've realised that they only have one cam belt and it's 20 years old. The engine is unique and the original belt manufacturer back in the day, Pirelli, was bought out by Dayco, who was subsequently bought out by venture capitalists who then proceeded to dismember the company into several parts. The car is due at the Silverstone Classic, then down to the Le Mans Classic and finishes it's summer outing at the German Old Timer Classic. We went through the options and I couldn't help them so passed them onto a contact who may be able to help. It could be a VW LT cam belt in the end but it also could be a special and I certainly wouldn't want to be party to valves hitting pistons catastrophically. So if you're at any of the events above and stood next to a 924 GTP and hear "Whang, tinkle, curse word" you'll know why. Have some relevant Porker pictures

With the crazee days of summer over it's time to press on and a very nice man called Tom has filled in the gaps on the missing air pumps on both turbines. I got this from him the other day
Time to make some parts!
