Phil,
I have a Monza with a towbar, you have a trailer with at least 75% of its wheels in place. What can possibly go wrong?

I can't wait to see you working on this one Phil, I've loved all old Vauxhalls since the early 80's when my old man went through a string of mk2 Cavaliers and finished the 80's with a Carlton CDI. I used to love pouring over the brochures he'd bring home for me with every service he had done, especially looking at the Monzas and Senators. I still like looking at them occasionally now as I've bought all the ones I used to have - I wore all my original ones out! I feel ashamed I never knew there was an estate conversion available though, I thought I knew a lot about them but obviously not

Haha. When I first saw the blue one (there is a picture here somewhere) I looked for a Carlton or Rekord to convert but was unsure about the tailgate arrangement because of the full width lights. I didn't realise it was a real thing not a home made one. Never thought I'd end up owning one! Sadly I think the chances of getting a convertible without a lottery win are pretty much zero. Anyway. Once it lands here I'll crack on with it. It's going to take quite a bit of work to get it nice. Obviously wheels and a tap with the stick Pondering a RHD conversion but I don't mind a lefty and I think it adds to the charm.

Not exactly. It's a translation thing... ... That´s it. Caravan is just Opel´s name for their estate versions - at least here in germany and for decades already. Ford calls them Turnier , Audi Avant, BMW Touring or Volkswagen Variant. Here´s a list of names from german wikipedia: Clubman (Mini, both British Leyland and BMW) The joys of wiki, clubman was the squarer nose on the mini, not the fact it wss also available as an estate. Something my German colleagues in BMW at the time couldn't get their head around when they were developing the MINI clubman

(the others were/are a Tourer, Avant and a Sportwagon) the estate that was Ford Cortina MKIV.

With the onset of winter. What better event to organise than a road trip that measures about 14 hours to collect a car I've never seen.
Wish me luck.

We got plenty of Station wagons over here. Here is a VH, which looks similar to your model, though it was nearly into VK territory.

No updates as such. Off to collect it soon. It's the only one over here so hopefully I can do it justice. Much to do before RRG16!
Wagons kick ass though.

At this stage, I may point out that MonzaNikki is a little less than impressed with the entire operation..... something, something, something double glazing, kitchen, bathroom..... cross.
I'll have to hide in the cupboard with the computer to finish this.
