Had a hard decision to make, i can only get on with one project if i am ever to finish something.... so the van looks to have been sold, it should be going late October. i need funds to either rebuild to a good standard the redtop in the mk2 Escort, or buy something (another redtop) that has already had some modifications, Hard choice to make, but in the desperate hour...... if the engine in the Escort was ok, i would have continued with both, but i can't stretch to getting both sorted by the end of the year, the Escort is now my priority.........................

You did the important thing, which was saving it in the first place. Hopefully the new owner can take it on to the next stage.

indeed, the guy is a fanatic about these models, and so i have faith in him to keep the sign writing etc... as soon as i have an update i will shove it on here, then go buy something quick to drop in the mk2, cheers for the reply.

Thought this would make some of you smile/ finally decided to get rid of the old Atlas Door-mobile shell, took the body off 1st, then strapped it and lined it with junk, then pulled the chassis apart (with scissors and a wooden stick) and threw it on top! along with other junk to clear the corner of the yard! The bread van will be sorted soon, but i need to focus on the mk2 first, but as said before, def' this year, in the meantime... smile away! I may just change my job and start my own wrapping business? vans being a specialty? don't come here often, but thats my oldvan. Amazing it lasted aslong as it did!

Many of the parts went onto the Leyland i had. there wasn't much left.

Many of the parts went onto the Leyland i had. there wasn't much left. Good to know some good come of it. When i dragged it off the driveway in southend and the steering box fell off, and i had to weld a frame to the back to stop the body wobbling, i did doubt the viability of restoring it
