I was not aware of the Stag wheels? that's great! and yes, lots of possibilities! Thank you. The chassis is SOLID!!!! the cradle for the gearbox is very basic, but again, Solid! wire brush and a paint should do the job, Thanks for the kind words guy's. And thanks for the photo randywanger, i will be sending that to the Laindon/Basildon history page.

That is a lovely little van, They are properly rare as they seem to rust way faster than any other Standard Triumph vehicle ever made! Literally only a handful left I believe. The patina and old signwork looks brilliant and if you can keep that it'll make the whole thing eleventy billion times cooler! You're a brave man, but good luck with it

How many left? They're almost extinct, a very endangered species. You're unlikely to ever encounter one in the wild and it's rare to see them at shows, even ones that are aimed directly at Standard, Triumph, etc. They survive in tiny numbers due to being underpowered when new, being used heavily because they're a commercial vehicle and chronic rust. It's remarkable any have survived at all to the present day, much less that there's three or four out there that are in virtually as-new condition.
From what tiny amount I know about Atlas vans, the easy bit is the mechanical side of things as for the most part that's all Triumph, some Herald heritage in there too I think. The problem comes with trim, body panels and glass, none of which is going to be anything other than a battle to source without a lot of luck. Absolutely worth saving even with that having been said, the rot doesn't look as chronic as usual for Atlas vans, they still look like vehicles rather than a teabags!
I really, really hope you can stick with at least one of them and get it back on the road. It will be excellent to see a bit of incredibly rare British motoring out there doing its thing.

I spoke with a guy a few weeks ago, and apparently a chap had 3 containers full of parts all for the Atlas models, they were sent to India! Yhen again, this was about 10 years ago! So much interest in this! Looking at less than a year before it's out and about.
Cheers for the support folks!

You'll probably be aware Stag Mk 1 14" steels have the right pcd. Aren't all Stags the same PCD? 4 x 4.5" (4 x 114.3mm) In which case there's all sorts of things that share the same PCD: everything from Triumph 2000s, MGBs, Scimitars, TR6s, Lotusus (Lotii!?), loads of older Japanese stuff (plenty of aftermarket rims) and later stuff like four-stud Volvo V40s and Primeras.

True - but I was thinking banding and original Standard hub caps. Stole the idea from someone who's restoring an Atlas on the Standard owners forum.

There are a couple of spare wheels with it, I was thinking the same, banded steels, but I will leave the wheels til last and get an idea of what i think looks best going by the choices I now have thanks again chaps!
