Yeah screw him and his love of cars and his ability to make a living at it. Exactly! I don't get this whole hating Ken Block thing. He loves cars He plays a rather central roll in making videos that we all watch He gets to drive the coolest stuff He does a job that most of us can only dream of He earns far more than we do Then he earns some more I wager that he is a far better driver than anyone this forum * Bloody good luck to him, and thanks for the entertainment. *unless anyone begs to differ... Theres a norwegian saying; "The only thing more powerful than human sexual urges, is envy" Frikkin great car, i love Rocket Bunny's stuff, the arches are great!

Jealousy is indeed an ugly thing! ;-)
He was one of the co-founders of DC shoes, made a heap of cash and he's used it to hoon around in cars. Blooming brilliant!!
Not usually a fan of the cars myself or even Escorts but that looks ace and the NOISE it makes - WOW. That must be one of the best burnouts I have ever seen too...

He's probably the only person making rally type driving interesting at the moment too - WRC isn't like when I went to stages as a youngster.

He must have shares in the rubber industry. His tyres are specifically made for him and have his name on the sidewalls, some kind of extra smoke formula. Living the dream.

I don't see what's not to like. Maybe he isn't hot curse word in WRC circles but the man clearly likes his cars and can throw the things around a fair bit for our entertainment. I wish I could a) do what he does and b) get paid for it.

I love the bloke. He lives the dream, and it's a dream we'd all like to live - admit it!
As for the WRC hate. Yeah, so what, he wasn't great at it, but sh*t, he had a go. Having been a passenger in a Group N Fiesta around Sweet Lamb a few years ago, I can tell you takes balls of steel deep fried in titanium to get in ANY rally car, let alone a full-bore WRC car. not only is the pace mind-blowing, the technical aspect of it from a driving point of view is off the charts, then there is the fact that, unlike the videos he creates, everything is variable. It's damn tough.
However, while he was't great (something, H8RS, that he happily admitted to in a recent interview) the sport was thankful for him. He brought in fresh viewers and he livened things up with his "dude" and his "gnarly" and his "oh man" banter - much more entertaining than Ogier waffling on about dust, or Latvala talking about tyre preservation.
Plus *CLANGING SHOW OFF COMING UP* I've had a coffee with old Ken, he's a nice fella.
As for his cars. I never liked the Hoonicorn, but that's just me, my preference. I respect it for what it is, but it does't fire me up. The Mk2 on the other hand, TROUSER AROUSER!
Now, if only a magazine was working on an amazing feature about the man, his career and his cars...

Great , cue mk2 escort prices rise by 10k [ and i don't have one in the shed anymore ] I have, so I hope they do! But seriously, if anyone wants a MK2 Escort (2dr 1600 Sport) that's in running and driving condition and hopefully MOT'd in a couple of weeks but in need of some resto to make really good, give me a shout as I'm 50/50 as to whether to sell or keep as it it's going to be a while before I get time to really get it done. As for Ken Block, what's not to like?! He's good at what he does and his name attracts loads of attention (and money)! If it was easy then why isn't everyone doing it?!

Horrid horrid engine, absolutely ruins the car. I shall be sitting down and writing him a stern letter suggesting he sends it immediately to me so I can dispose of it....

That body kit (or is it just the arches?) makes a whole lot of difference! as for the engine..... how strong is that? I Love RWD!!!!! LOVE IT! I was impressed with the Mustang he has on youtube, i think the part where he lets it go after being chained is impressive ( I haven't done it!!!!) and I think there was a clip of him in a 'Fiesta 4wd in Disney? the slowed down part where he jumps and the two sounds Boom Bang from the exhausts!what i am getting at is he is a showman, has more money than i will ever have (unless you wanna pay to see me to do 3ft jump in my up and coming panel van? ) (laughing to myself!) good luck to him! right!....................................... where's my crash helmet?)

Great post I have no talent for that sort of thing - proven I like the fact that however he does it or pays for it he makes some great videos and probably has a lot of fun doing it Isn't that why we muck about with cars - cos it's fun and and we like building them or driving them or both!!! I am not a Ford fan but I'm not anti them either just never had one that lit the blue touch paper for my soul but that rocks visually and I bet it's a hoot to drive It's retro and it probably won't harm the values of MKII Escorts - mind you not much would drive them down!!!!

Also, ever notice that his vids are both prolific and free to watch? That's because he needs to drop a bit of sponsorship in it. You can easily skip that bit if you are not into it and watch the fun stuff.
Big love xx

I went to Gymkahna today, Block stuffed the Mustang into the wall on the first corner of the first lap! He was about the 15th car out as well! It didn't come back out again #fail
