"I'll let it progress with what I have on hand. If it seems really cliché or cheesy- I'll change it. I have a budget and a timeline for completion. So far? I'm under budget but the time line is getting close. I'm not outta the woods yet, but I can see the clearing ahead.... Go open a beer!" why thank you sir !

Regarding all the little styling choices you've made, (door handles, bonnet sprocket, mirrors etc.)they're what make this awesome build 'yours'. Take it as a compliment if they cause minor controversy, in my eyes that's part of what makes this build awesome! Its different in a good way, not in a trying too hard rat look way which some people take offence to.
I think quickrack might be onto something with regards giving the mirror hands a dusting of paint. Maybe something like anthracite?
Keep it up.

Good plan. The mirrors are both different. One is shiny stainless steel, from about 1990 or so. The other one is painted and faded white, from about 1975. I'll paint them both the same gray color or black and they'll match better. I searched the bone yards for mirrors and all of the old stuff is gone. Nothing but plastic van mirrors, plastic pickup truck & car mirrors. I'll get them the same color and nobody will notice.

OR, remake the hands in to a grip, and have them holding hand-held vanity mirrors. Genius!

Well guess what I've discovered? This 4x4 Chassis has a steel wheel as a spare. It's rusty and looks like hell. Jamie's truck also has a steel wheel as a spare. My truck too- it has a steel wheel as a spare. That's THREE steel wheels. A guy emailed me about parts and turns out he will trade me a steel wheel plus a 12 pack of beer for two Aluminum Durango wheels. That makes four steel rims, Just need to swap my tires. That puts an aluminum spare under Jamie's truck and mine too. It might get rusty steel wheels after all... For free. We shall see.. The steel wheels look like this, only really rusty: It's this: Yeah, I'm thinking baby moons and a beauty ring. Like this? Oh, and I've started on the bed. Pics in a bit.

Hahahah- He said CHRIST ON A BIKE hahaha that's hilarious, not sure I've ever heard that but it's a good one. I'm working on the back bed since 8AM today, it's 5:07 PM now and I still have all night, I might get the bed at least in position where it's going to go today. I had to cut it into many, many pieces...

The further you progress with it the more I like it and it's the sort of truck that would catch my eye at a show or on the road.

Thanks, the guy I bought it from stopped by the house today. He couldn't believe it. He said "I knew you were a doer and not a talker". He liked it a lot. That was nice of him to check out the truck and appreciate that it wasn't sitting left to rot. I told him when it's done I'll take him for a spin in it.
I can't wait to SPIN the tires! It'll be a little difficult because it's 4x4/AWD and unless the pavement is wet, it just MOVES, rather than spins. Snow, mud & grass and wet asphalt, all four will eventually spin. Now, this is lighter, so who knows, it might do a burnout, but the AWD will put a stop to it I think. Who cares, it's cool. Super Happy Fun Time, open a beer!

This just looks better every time I check the thread! The bed looks perfect, and the stance as is is spot on. I like the current wheels but yep, steelies will really finish it off. Much as I like the skeleton hands, I think the mirrors in the last shot look a lot better
